What is USANA about?

USANA produces pharmaceutical grade nutrition products as well as foods, energy and personal care products. All of USANA’s products are science based and as the tagline says “The Cellular Nutrition Company” they are the leaders in the field having been founded by double PhD scientist Dr Myron Wentz an expert on human cell cultures.

USANA operates through the direct selling / network marketing / MLM business model.

A key advantage is to get the highest quality products to the consumers without retail markups and other inefficiencies in traditional distribution channels. So their products can’t be found in retail outlets because they sell their products direct by their own “independent distributors” known as “associates”. Basically they are the sales force in their MLM distribution system.

It’s listed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and on the New York Stock Exchange they trade the company stock (NYSE: USNA).

The following short video is a good snapshot of really what is USANA about:

USANA’s Founder: Dr Myron Wentz, PhD

Vision

Dr Myron Wentz

“I dream of a world free from the pain and suffering of degenerative disease. Share my vision. Love life and live it to its fullest in happiness and health.”

(Source: Dr. Myron Wentz, Founder of USANA Health Sciences, visionary, scientist, philanthropist, and entrepreneur)

“Dr. Myron Wentz is an internationally recognized microbiologist, immunologist, and pioneer in the development of human cell culture technology and infectious disease diagnoses. Dr. Wentz founded Gull Laboratories in 1974 and developed the first commercially available diagnostic test for the Epstein-Barr virus (commonly called Glandular Fever). In June 2007, he was honored with the Albert Einstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Life Sciences.” (Source: DrWentz.com)

Dr Myron Wentz Albert Einstein Award

Dr Wentz is a true scientist with double PhD in microbiology and immunology. He has a genuine interest in improving health of as many people he can reach world-wide. He is not like other “corporate suits” who found health and wellness MLM’s just to make money. One key factor in the “USANA difference” is that all USANA’s products are backed by solid science.

Science-based innovation is the strong foundation of USANA since it began. What Dr. Myron Wentz started back in 1992 has grown into a team of world-class scientists from various disciplines dedicated to the continued creation of the best nutritional products in the world.

USANA has a team of scientists dedicated to innovation, science, research and development (R&D) to produce the best products for all people what work at the cellular level. The R&D team is made up of talented chemists, molecular and cellular biologists, nutritional biochemists, pharmacists and sports science experts.

With a focus on nutritional scientific discoveries, USANA is continually improving its products and developing new ones.

The quality of their products is undeniable and this is demonstrated through the various awards and achievements USANA continues to receive which I’ll cover later on.

USANA’s Top-Rated World-Class Products

USANA’s products can be broadly categorized into 3 groups:

  1. Nutritional Supplements
  2. Skin Health, Beauty and Personal Care
  3. Foods, Diet & Energy and Active Nutrition (launched in 2021, refer below Constant Innovation)

Common questions are – how effective are USANA products? and do USANA vitamins really work?  This USANA review will answer this.  I won’t go into the all the details here because there are just too many amazing products as well as innovations, technology, science and awards etc. You can see a few of my personal recommendations below.

Let me begin by focusing on “WHY USANA’s products are the best?”

Many companies can claim to be “the best”. But USANA’s products are world-class. There are 3 unique reasons for this…

#1 USANA’s products are pharmaceutical grade and have many patents for its different products.

If you go into GNC or health food stores and ask, can you sell me something pharmaceutical grade? I doubt they can find it in their store….

#2 USANA is the Top Rated Nutritional Supplement Company according to the independent “Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” study

#3 Thousands of World-Class Athletes Trust USANA

2,000+ elite and Olympic athletes take USANA products. They want the best nutrition, recovery, performance and protection for their bodies. These athletes have gold medals and paychecks on the line. For example, WTA tennis professionals.  You can ask any of these athletes why USANA is the best.

These 3 reasons speak volumes to me and why I personally choose USANA’s products over all others.

I’ll show more evidence in this detailed post below. You can also find tons of proof and testimonials by doing a simple online search.

“I find it tragic that the vast majority of people leave this earth too soon and spend too many of their years in pain and suffering. In a sense, we are living too short and dying too long. Chronic degenerative diseases are rampant throughout the world. Cancer accounts for one in every four deaths in the United States while heart disease is responsible for one in every three deaths. Only a small percentage of us will die of old age.”

“I recognized many years ago that optimal cellular nutrition is key to maintaining long-term health. Since that time, I have made it my life’s mission to help people live healthier lives through scientific research, advanced nutritional products, cutting-edge medical facilities, and progressive humanitarian work. I believe, with the help of exceptional nutrition, people can live healthier and more rewarding lives.”

USANA Review are USANA vitamins worth the money USANA Advantages

Are USANA vitamins worth the money?

First off what are the USANA products?

USANA continues to develop and release and a wide variety of products over many years. They continue to innovate and improve on their products. All are designed to be the best available in the market compared to other products.

Dr Myron Wentz and his team of scientists focus on providing optimal cellular nutrition. All products are designed to work at the cellular level to nourish your cells to make you healthier. When you get the best cellular nutrition, other benefits can vary like more energy, younger looking skin etc. There are many USANA vitamins reviews online, mine are from my own personal experience and, I’ll cover two major products in my USANA Cellsentials reviews and Celavive reviews below.  So read on for a genuine USANA products review.

USANA Cellsentials review

Cellsentials Vita Antioxidant & Core Minerals

USANA’s flagship product is the Cellsentials. Helping you to build a strong foundation for exceptional health, USANA Cellsentials provide a comprehensive spectrum of the necessary vitamins and minerals adults need every day for optimal health and energy levels. Potency Guaranteed!

The Vita Antioxidant and Multimineral Plus is the USANA multivitamin mix. So there are 2 bottles and you take 2 pills from each, twice a day. That’s 8 in total each day. Everything is backed by solid science with the Ask The Scientists website and can be found BUILD YOUR FOUNDATION FOR HEALTH WITH USANA® CELLSENTIALS™

Pros: 1) The CellSentials are so much more than your average one a day multivitamin. All the essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, plus additional key nutrients are provided in each daily dose. How convenient is that!“The exclusive InCelligence Complex, made using USANA’s patent-pending USANA InCelligence Technology®, goes beyond nourishing the body. It also helps activate your body’s natural ability to respond to stress and keep your cells healthy.*” (source: Ask the Scientists).

2) Consumerlab.com has independent ratings of vitamins. They test that the supplement contains the amount of ingredients it claims, that the vitamin disintegrates and that the supplement wasn’t lead contaminated (none were, except one supplement for pets). USANA’s Cellsentials and other core products have received ConsumerLab.com’s distinguished seal of approval.

3) The Vita Antioxidant contains 1,000 IU Vitamin D per day, which is higher than most multivitamins. The recommended daily allowance is 600 IU per day for adults. It is generally recommended about 1,000 IU per day for adults (especially in winter), as it may be linked to prevention of autoimmune disorders, osteoporosis and cancers.

“However, research has shown you often need higher levels to achieve the blood levels needed for good health. In fact, a 2011 in-house study conducted at USANA found that supplementation of up to 5,000 IU was necessary to reach optimal levels (40-60ng/mL). (Labels in the United States now list vitamin D amounts in micro grams. 5000 IU equates to about 125 mcg per day.)” (source: Ask the Scientists).

4) “InCelligence Complex in Vita Antioxidant is a powerful blend of ingredients that supports a network of cell-signaling pathways. These pathways help cells adapt and respond to whatever daily stressors arise*” (source: Ask the Scientists). Some of the unique ingredients include resveratrol, olive fruit extract, green tea extract, bilberry fruit extract, lycopene and turmeric. These are unique ingredients in a multivitamin, and provide extra antioxidants. As examples of the benefits, lycopene for possibly helping prevent prostate cancer and turmeric is known as an anti-inflammatory.

5) I like how USANA’s In-House Experts and Scientific Advisory Council consist of many PhDs and experts in their fields. They have also published countless research and partnered with distinguished institutions and universities to publish many papers. They work out the exact combinations of all the ingredients for optimal levels of nutrition. Look, another consideration in your supplement selection is the ratio of nutrients used together.

You could be tempted to pick and choose your nutrients based on the latest findings you’ve heard of. But those nutrients might be affected by other nutrients. For example, copper and iron work better together. You need enough of one for the other to be correctly used by your body. Calcium, also, requires adequate levels and the right forms of magnesium, vitamin D, and vitamin K to maintain healthy bones. The relationships between nutrients is way too complex for ordinary folk. It’s great to have this team of scientists to have done all the hard work for you.

Cons: 1) There is no iron in the Core Minerals, so this is really just a ‘con’ specific to mainly women. Men don’t need extra iron. Many women do however so USANA released a Prenatal version of Cellsentials just designed for women. Don’t get confused by the name, they are ideal for all women of childbearing age or who need iron supplementation.

2) Cost. Costs of supplements are around $1.90/day for this USANA pair. Yes store bought ones like Centrum are far cheaper, but rate much lower in the Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements referred below. It’s a personal investment in your health, how much do you spend on other daily things that don’t give you cellular health benefits like coffee?  So if you are considering cheaper supplements you really should consider not just price, but VALUE, notably how effective are USANA products in comparison.

3) Eight pills a day is a lot to swallow. Personally I find them easy to swallow as they aren’t huge, and don’t get stuck in your throat like some others I’ve tried. It can be tricky for most people to remember to take supplements once per day, let alone twice.

My Cellsentials experience: Because of my active lifestyle, I started taking CellSentials, knowing that it has wide combination of vitamins,  minerals and antioxidants to support my nutritional needs. When I first started taking them, I noticed a difference on my energy level and mental clarity. I love the idea that USANA carefully formulated balance of key types of nutrients to nourish, protect, and renew the cells through USANA’s patented technology called InCelligence. I’m happily using the products for over 10 years now.

My main benefits recently is around physical – more energy, stronger and surprisingly in my running also, But it’s not just speed, but recovery and overall more physical and mental energy. When I compare back to years I took Centrum Men’s 50+, I definitely feel more energetic and also got great “before and after” medical results a few years back.

Yes they are not cheap, but I consider that small investment daily in my health to be worth it, Like a nutritional “insurance plan,” a good daily supplement can help fill in the gaps. Have you tried these USANA supplements? What has been your own experience so far?

Are you curious to try them? You can buy the Cellsentials for Optimal Cellular Nutrition at wholesale customer price (and choose your country).

What about children and teenagers? Great news is that USANA produces a version specific for Children called Usanimals and for Teenagers called Body Rox.

What other products do I need? For a personalised assessment of which products are best suited to your personalised nutrition taking into account your lifestyle, habits, ailments etc. This is possible too.

Most USANA customers start on these 3 product recommendations with great results.
USANA CellSentials Multivitamin, Biomega Fish Oil and  USANA Probiotic.

Personally, I also take BiOmega fish oil, Procosa (for joints), Proflavanol C100 (powerful antioxidants, anti inflammatory), Hepasil (liver health) and Probiotic (gut. digestive and immune health).

Celavive review: Product Review of Celavive Skin Care Regimen Product: An Investment in Beauty

This is another major product innovation from the team of scientists and is designed to benefit all men and women and skin types.

The science:

According to USANA: “Celavive is designed to bring your complexion to life. Each product contains innovative science-based ingredients and vital nutrients to replenish, balance, and restore your skin’s youthful appearance.

In only a few short weeks of using the full regimen, you will see beautiful results:

  • Brighter, healthy-looking skin
  • Enhanced look of firmness
  • Visibly reduced fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improved hydration
  • Appearance of soft, smooth texture
  • Visibly even skin tone

The entire Celavive line is gluten-free, contains no harsh chemicals or parabens, and has been dermatologically tested.” (Source: Ask The Scientists).

Nourish your skin’s natural processes that defend against visible aging with the Celavive Cell-Signaling Complex. USANA InCelligence Technology® uses targeted botanicals and bio active peptides to support cellular communications that promote a beautiful, younger-looking appearance. By working with your skin cells, this powerful complex delivers results that are unique to your personalized beauty needs.(Source: Ask The Scientists).

The Celavive Core Products:

  • Creamy Foam Cleanser (oily/combination) / Gentle Milk Cleanser (dry/sensitive)
  • Perfecting Toner
  • Protective Day Lotion (oily/combination) / Protective Day Cream (dry/sensitive)
  • Replenishing Night Gel (oily/combination) / Replenishing Night Cream (dry/sensitive)
  • Hydrating Eye Essence
  • Vitalizing Serum

Do you want more of a glow to your skin.  There’s also the Celavive exfoliating scrub+mask.

Do you have contents with spots or pigmentation? There’s also Celavive® Brightening Products, these are advanced skincare series addressing the look of uneven skin tone and pigmentation for a beautifully balanced appearance.

Pros:

1) Works! I noticed benefits after only one application, however Most people will see a difference in skin hydration and overall appearance within about two weeks. Skin renewal can take up to 90 days so more dramatic visual results may take several weeks of regular daily use for most people.

2) Amazing ingredients, clinically tested and preserved without the nasty ingredients like parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate and other nasties commonly used. Their targeted botanicals and bio active peptides to support cellular communications that promote a beautiful, younger-looking appearance.

Cons:

1) Pricey for some people when I asked them. The products are mid to high-end range but priced at the middle range. For the regimen pack containing 6 products, it costs $245 but given this lasts about 2-3 months then I’d say it’s a good investment. Some high-end are far more expensive and Celavive is all backed by solid science. In my opinion, the price reflects the quality – each product from the regimen pack delivered what it promised, and I’m really enjoying using all of them.

Before and After Using the USANA Celavive Serum (testimonial on Dr Oz)

My Celavive experience: I noticed younger, firmer looking and feeling skin after just one application. Particularly around the eyes and overall face. My skin felt more hydrated, reduced dark under eyes and healthy looking. Overall, it makes my skin look and feel amazing. I personally use the oily/combination pack which you can buy as a discounted pack in most countries, but the main 6 products you can also buy individually.

More USANA Celavive experience:

Look at these USANA testimonials, you can see for yourself what a wonderful USANA Celavive experience these ladies clearly show from continued use.

What about USANA for immune system?

Let’s ask an expert by asking Dr Ladd McNamara M.D what he recommends. I want to make this clear. No one can claim that any supplement can prevent or treat infections.  However, studies have shown that several micronutrients exert anti-viral activity against viruses that cause the common cold (upper respiratory tract infections), and some other viruses.

With some micronutrient derivatives having been found to exhibit antiviral activity against some viruses, we can assume that various micronutrients are very likely going to have a similar encouraging impact against certain viral infections.

There are many micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, etc.) that research has shown are very beneficial to our health, and in particular, very beneficial to our immune systems.

Read more here about a summary of that expert advice and what lifestyle factors and USANA products are recommended to help support the immune system

Are USANA vitamins worth the money? My conclusion

Based on my USANA reviews and the evidence of independent assessments of two of the core products, Cellsentials at around US$1.90/day and Celavive. I can say that the USANA products are not the cheapest price wise, but given their effectiveness and quality of manufacturing, its an investment in health and beauty that I feel is well worth it. Plus I really feel the benefits. They are like the Rolls-Royce in terms of quality but priced like a Toyota Camry! (so very reasonable for the quality you get).

How Can I Be a Part of USANA?

There are 2 ways you can be a part of USANA, as a Preferred Customer or as an Associate.

1. USANA Preferred Customer

Do you want to try USANA’s amazing products? Then you can become an USANA Preferred Customer. Being a preferred customer, you’re able to purchase USANA’s products at 10% discount, think of it like your own wholesale account.

On top of that, if you set your purchase as “Auto Order”, you can get an additional 10% discount. So you’ll get a total of 20% off for each purchase, that USANA 20% off is the cheapest possible price.

USANA auto order means that you’re purchasing the products every month and for your convenience they’ll process the purchase automatically for you. Bonus is that you can push back the dates at any time so you don’t “have to” purchase every month.

Click here (and choose your country) or contact me, if you want to become an USANA Preferred Customer.

What is really great is in September 2020, USANA has launched the ‘refer a friend’ program. So you can earn 10% when someone you refer buys through your referral link. It’s a bit like referring UBER or Agoda.com to your friends, you will get a referral link and if your friend/family/colleague buys you will get 10% of the value of their order.

Warning: do not buy USANA products on internet auction sites (i.e. eBay) or online marketplaces like Amazon. It is a violation of the USANA Policies & Procedures to sell on these websites. Plus, you as the consumer are risking buying fake products. Just not worth the risk to your health.

2. USANA Associate

If you want to make some money while sharing USANA’s top rated products with your friends, you should consider becoming a USANA Associate.

As a USANA Associate you create your own “Business Center” enabling you to:

  • Purchase USANA products at the cheapest possible discounted price
  • Sell USANA products and make retail profits
  • Help Others to become USANA Associates (your downline)
  • And earn commission from their sales and consumption.

I’ll explain USANA’s compensation plan in the next USANA Business Opportunity section.

Click here (and choose your country) or contact me, if you want to become an USANA Associate.

What About The USANA Business Opportunity?

USANA operates by the common Binary Compensation Plan and is focused on the idea of earning money while promoting the products.

Here’s an easy to understand video showing you how USANA’s compensation plan works in detail and how to make money with USANA:

The simplest start is to share the products and opportunity with your family, friends and colleagues. Anyone who wants to become a customer or associate and you put them on the left side and the right side of the “business center”, you get paid, pretty simple. If you “recruit” people to do the same then you get paid more.

There are 3 main things initially to focus on:

  1. Use and trust the products for your own health, so you have your own “story testimonial”
  2. Sell products directly and earn retail profit
  3. “Duplicate” by training your downlines to recruit more people and also sell USANA products

You’ll earn points for all of your sales and all the sales volume from your downlines. These points will are then added up and earn you commissions.

Is USANA a pyramid scheme? No, it has real products and Associates will only earn points once a product is sold. You cannot make money just by recruiting people.  Meaning you get paid on the total sales volume of products in your organisation.

This is the USANA’s compensation plan in a nutshell.

For more detailed explanation, please refer to the video which explains it all visually for you to better understand the opportunities.

7 Ways to Earn Income with USANA

There are 7 ways (your Job has only 1 way right) to create income streams using USANA’s compensation plan. I’ve listed them below with brief explanations:

1. Retail Sales

This is the simplest way to make money with USANA. Basically, you earn the profits between the wholesale and retail price when you sell any products which can be 10-20% as a guide.

You can sell USANA’s products in whatever way you’re most comfortable with, be it in person, online, in a party, meeting, etc… There are ever advancing social media and online sharing options making it much easier to make sales online.

2. Weekly Commissions

This is essentially what I’ve explained above about the USANA’s compensation plan. You earn sales volume points from each side of your business center and exchange for commissions every week. This is the main residual income you would aim for.

All you have to do is to sell or move USANA products and “duplicate” by teaching your downlines to do the same.

3. Lifetime Matching Bonus

If you train your new team members (downlines) to achieve certain results within the first 8 weeks, they’ll be able to earn the special rank known as “Premier PaceSetter” or “Premier Platinum PaceSetter”.

With these ranks, you’ll be able to an additional percentage of up to 15% commission from the sales of these downlines for life as long as both of you are qualified for commissions.

4. Incentives

There are various contests and incentives being held throughout every year. The reward for these incentives are very attractive, which includes luxury overseas travels, cruises, adventures etc. as well as extra training retreats and recognition.

5. Leadership Bonus

If you achieve the key leadership rank (Gold Director) and higher, you’ll enjoy receiving a weekly profit share from USANA.

USANA reserves 3% of its worldwide sales and shares it with the top associates every week.

6. Elite Bonus

If you’re the top earner in the company, you’ll be able to earn even more additional bonus income, over 1% of USANA’s sales/quarter divided among the top earners.

In summary, the higher you get, the more you earn. It is a good incentive for its Associates. But that’s also why most of the commissions and bonus income are earned by the top few percent of Associates.

7. Celavive Bonus

This is very different, it is a way to get any associates cash straight away that enjoy sharing the Celavive products. Associates will earn a 25 per cent bonus of the tax-exclusive sales price for all Celavive products sold to personally sponsored Preferred Customers on their initial order of Celavive products.

Bonus Way to Earn Income with USANA as a Preferred Customer

What is really great is in September 2020, USANA has launched the ‘refer a friend’ program. So you can earn 10% when someone you refer buys through your referral link. It’s just like referring UBER, Booking.com or Agoda.com to your friends, you will get a referral link and if your friend/family/colleague buys you will get 10% of the value of their order.

The Refer A Friend is a cross-border program between the USA, Canada, Mexica, Columbia, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. This means Preferred Customers can take advantage of this program as long as they and their friends both live in one of these participating markets.

USANA wants to reward loyal customers for introducing new customers to USANA. Since they’re the ones bringing those customers in, they’ll receive the initial 10 per cent bonus, and the Associate who sponsored them will receive 70 per cent of the volume (see 2. Weekly Commissions above) —it’s a win-win!

Pros and Cons of USANA MLM

Pros of USANA

1. Top Rated Science-Based Products

You may still be wondering, are USANA vitamins good?

As mentioned above, Dr. Myron Wentz and his team of scientists are the world leaders in cellular nutrition. All their products are designed to work at the cellular level to nourish your cells to make you healthier. Other benefits can vary like more energy, younger looking skin etc.

Every product is backed by real scientific evidence, experiments and clinical research and many patents.

USANA is the Top Rated Nutritional Supplement Company according to the independent “Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” study by Nutrisearch.

Here’s a snapshot summary:

USANA Comparative Guide to nutritional supplements

This research is done by comparing the presence and the amount of nutrients contained in the main nutritional supplements against an independently compiled ‘Blended Standard’ of the perfect ingredients and quantities.

USANA has the most complete and optimal nutrition needed by the human body while many other competitors lack many nutrients and simply don’t compare.

USANA is the top rated nutritional supplement company for many years now and receives many other awards. Cellsentials in particular (reviewed above) are the top-rated multivitamin/antioxidant.  So if you have any doubts and are wondering how effective are USANA products or is USANA the best supplement, you can clearly see from that independent resource.  Interestingly you will easily be able to compare –  USANA vs Herbalife, USANA vs GNC, USANA vs Centrum, USANA vs Amway Nutrilite, USANA vs Isagenix etc.

USANA has loads of scientific authority including being an FDA-Registered facility and obtains third-party verification through the NSF and LGC to confirm what they claim is on their labels is correct and to test for banned substances.

Optimal Levels of Nutrition vs Daily Values (DV)/Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA’s)

“Nutritional authorities often establish the recommended nutrient levels on supplement labels based on what it takes to avoid deficiency. (This is referenced as %DV—Percent of Daily Value—on labels in the United States.) The amounts aren’t at levels research shows can help make a difference in your long-term health.” (source: Ask The Scientists)

2. USANA Products Are Trusted and Chosen by World-Class Athletes

Athletes are very fussy about their diet and what they put into their body, right? As they have gold medals and paychecks riding on their performance.

Athletes strive to break records, push their boundaries and take their performance to the limit. They train hard, play hard, and train even harder. With all the demands they put on their bodies they also understand the need to supplement their demanding lifestyles with the best nutrition available.

So it’s no wonder why thousands of world-class athletes trust their health to USANA and its top-quality supplements. Athletes know the safety and quality associated with each USANA product is potency guaranteed and also pure and free of any banned substances. Can any other supplement company say the same? Didn’t think so. This shows that USANA really has the best products on the market.

You can go and do some research online. Your favorite athlete is probably already taking USANA supplements but you just don’t know about it…

USANA products trusted by athletes

3. No Need for Inventory of Products

It is convenient that customers can buy directly from USANA and that distributors (associates) don’t have to keep stock on hand. All they need to do is to recommend products to customers and they order directly from USANA.

4. Extensive Training, Resources and Support

When you join as a business, you’ll be asked to purchase a $9.95 starter kit (also known as Business Development System). This contains various learning resources and tools to help you get started right.

The good thing about being an USANA Associate is that you’ll learn a lot more about sales, entrepreneurship and people skills. These are valuable life skills that you rarely learn from schools.

Cons of USANA

1. It Costs You Before You Can Earn Commission

To earn commissions, you have to buy a certain amount of products every month. This is either 100 or 200 points per month which equates to about $130 – $150 per month of investment as a guide of the minimum. In addition, you need at least a 200 point initial product purchase and this is upwards of $280.

If you don’t make these purchases every month, you’ll lose any points accumulated and can’t earn any commissions. So like many in the industry, you have to pay to get paid.

2. Ongoing Investments Every 4 Weeks

Despite claims it only costs $9.95 to “get started” by purchasing your welcome kit, that is only the beginning. As explained above, you have to purchase a certain amount of product every month to keep your business centers “active”.

To you and most people this is considered an additional cost but USANA associates will tell you it’s not really an investment. Why?

Because you can either sell them to others or consume the products yourself.

This wouldn’t be an issue for those that can meet the ongoing investment. You can consider it “substituted spend” (you would’ve bought vitamins etc anyway so may as well buy from your own “shop”). That’s fine for those that have those sort of funds. However, this can be a very real issue for those that are struggling with day to day costs.

3. What About The USANA Business Opportunity? Can You Make Money with USANA? Success Chances are all up to you, but…

Ok so you’ve read this far and want to know can you make money with USANA? This is the real challenge. USANA’s own income disclosure reports indicate – probably not, let me explain why.

Because of the binary compensation plan, to have any chances of regular income you have to recruit at least two different people who are successful (and continue to be successful). You only make money when the points on two sides of your business match, so you are limited to by the success of your smallest side.

4. Recruiting

Do you like recruiting? Like so many home based businesses, you have to be diligent and consistent to grow your business. To have any chance of success in growing any MLM including USANA, you have to always be recruiting.

A real challenge with any MLM is that you start out with a limitation on how many people you can recruit. Specifically, the ideal is for you to recruit a total of four people and then you are supposed to help them to build the people they recruit.

In general, the “textbook ideal scenario” is that you are helping people you recruited to recruit others.

However, reality is not all people can recruit, even if you can right? So you’ll find yourself continually trying to recruit additional people yourself. It’s a real juggling act.

Recruiting others and making sales in this type of MLM company is always challenging. Finding four other people who can do this and are as dedicated as you, is tough.  There is naturally drop-off in this process.  With the drop-off and need to balance your legs to get paid.  You will naturally have imbalance and need people and points to fill that imbalance to get paid.

Plus, you really want these people to be promoting to different markets, like different cities and even countries. If not, they will just be in direct competition with each other.

5. Most Associates Earn Very Little

With 7 ways of earning money and downlines working for you, the opportunity might seem like a great way to earn money. However, a major issue of compensation plans for so many MLM’s is they get complicated quickly as the theory and reality are very different from each other.

Check out these statistics that highlight that people struggle to make money with USANA and only a minuscule percentage of people make full-time earnings:

USANA Health Sciences Review Average-Earnings-from-USANA-North-Ameican-2011

When you look at the stats, the annual average on the right may get you excited. However, let’s break this down, only around 14% of all people who join the company are even “active” (maintain the cost of 100 point or more monthly order). Then within those active, the bulk majority, earn at ‘builder’ level of lower, which is an average of $169 per week.

Looking at the higher end, less than 1% of total associates made more than $1,200 per week.

More recent statistics from 2017 show that only 1% of total associates make more than $20,000 per annum.

This means that according to USANA’s own statistics, your chances of earning a full-time income with USANA are low.

If you look at USANA as a business opportunity however, with these statistics, what are your chances of making decent money?

However, if you are already working with people and like helping others, then this could be a good network marketing opportunity for you.   Only you, your efforts and of your team can determine your own success.

As a minimum, you get the best products at the cheapest possible auto order price and effectively cheaper if you refer people to the products and they buy. If this is you, that’s great and the income statistics won’t affect you.

Despite USANA has been voted the Best Network Marketing Company, it is still very hard for people to make a full-time living or even make enough money to recover their initial investment costs.

Also, these statistics don’t take into account how much work is actually involved in earning this money. This isn’t a passive business and you have to actively sell, recruit and promote the company constantly to be any chance of a successful USANA business.

Is USANA a Scam?

USANA is clearly NOT a scam. Rather, USANA is a benevolent company driven by a great mission to change and improve people’s lives, particularly their health. Do USANA products work? You can find tons of USANA testimonials online from the products. Like any product online, sure there are some USANA products complaints but these are far outweighed by positive product testimonials.

You only have to look at their top-rated world-class products and their effort in helping people in need. Particularly the work of the USANA True Health Foundation to help impoverished children and families to reach their potential by providing them food and nutrition.

On the business side, Like any company you’ll find USANA complaints on the internet.  Heck you even get complaints for Disney!  However, USANA is a respected publicly traded company. They’ve been voted “#1 Distributor’s Choice” for Best Network Marketing Company by MLM Insider for 16 consecutive years.  USANA has won 500+ National and International Awards.

What is USANA’s BBB rating?…A+

Is USANA a pyramid scheme? No, it has real products and Associates will only earn points once a product is sold.  You cannot make money just by recruiting people.

What about the negative USANA reviews online? These are often from USANA distributors that got started, but were not trained the right way so because it didn’t work for them, some of them call it a USANA scam. It is not.  Those with a complainer mindset may raise USANA complaints, but they probably complain about everything else.

However, USANA may not be the right business to earn a decent passive income from home for most people.

As you can see from this USANA review, USANA products are no doubt the best (just look at the athletes!), but the statistics show that not enough people are having huge success with USANA MLM.

So What Is Best For You?

Health, Wellness and nutrition are booming industries, and USANA may have the best products and one of best companies in this industry, but there are many companies selling in it.  Statistically, the MLM business model may mainly work for few people at the top, however you too could be successful.

If you’ve read this far in the post, may I suggest three options:

If you do like the people side, and this does involve recruiting, then you could consider this as a network marketing business opportunity. So if you are already working with people and like helping others, then this is a good network marketing opportunity for you.  If this is you, you’ll want to partner with a great community that can help you with best chances of success.

There are even people doing network marketing and using it as a platform for them to help others.  For example, personal trainers wanting to reach more health enthusiasts or a public speaker wanting to create a team to train and groom.  Some are also in network marketing because they love to be working with like minded people in their free time, like work from home moms.

Please ask or email me at [email protected] if you’d like to learn more.

Secondly, if you would rather a more passive work from home strategy and a clear-cut way to make money online you could dive into affiliate marketing. There’s no recruiting and no complex compensation plans that statistically not many people earn from. Also, no downlines and no depending on a team of people to earn consistent revenue.  So you don’t have to concern yourself about all that “people” stuff.

It is easy to get started with affiliate marketing, you get to choose what you promote and there’s a whole lot less restrictions. You have control. You’re the boss.

So whether you choose to build a USANA business online or Affiliate Marketing, having your own website and online business will drive sales online for you.

Finally, running a blog around topics such as health, fitness, weight loss or lifestyle can be a vehicle to drive sales online for your USANA business (for Gold Directors and above) or your affiliate marketing business. Your website is your gateway to the world and that’s where I can help you take this to a whole new level.

The fact you’re reading this article right now shows that it works. Even if you already have a successful offline or online business and you’re looking to grow it, My Top Free Recommendation can teach you how to grow it. If you choose to promote USANA, you can also learn all about YouTube and social media marketing on the inside.  I’d be your personal coach and mentor to help you do this. Don’t know where to start? The online community I’m a part of is, in my opinion, the best training platform and mentoring community to build your own successful online business. I’ve had only positives from it, and it’s 100% free to try.

  1. I have heard that USANA is a high-quality supplements company and their products are worthwhile purchasing or at least investigating. However, although I would like to try them, does not mean that I would like to try and sell them. This type of marketing is extremely difficult in my opinion and I can think of easier ways to sell products without having to pay a fee to sell them.

    • Thanks Michel,
Sure many people want to try the products only and not sell them.  You can sign up for a free Preferred Customer account, its like a wholesale account and you can try the products that way at the cheapest price.

I have found your article  encouraging for people to prioritize health and consider USANA products as a way to stay healthy and potentially earn money. well done and thank you for sharing.

  3. I am having a good look around your site and left a comment on another post, so sorry to bombard you with comments haha.

I haven’t tried these USANA Vitamins, but your review gives me a good starting point to take into consideration. They seem to be a little on the expensive side for my budget but I guess you get what you pay for these days.

I’m curious, have you (or anyone you know of) noticed a difference in health or wellness since starting to use these vitamins? Also, in a market with lots of options, what sets USANA apart for you?

Looking forward to hearing learning more. You have a nice website too by the way.

    • Hey Chris,
Thanks for reading my honest USANA Health Sciences review.
Personally I have taken the USANA vitamins since 2010.  When I first started taking them, I noticed a difference on my energy level and mental clarity.   I also had some very encouraging before and after personal health measurements which proved that they work at the cellular level.

I used to take store bought multi-vitamins such as Centrum but once I researched about Centrum vs USANA I was impressed with what I learned and what sets USANA apart.  For me, what sets USANA apart from other multi-vitamins is:

#1 USANA’s products are pharmaceutical grade and have many patents for its different products.

If you go into GNC or health food stores and ask, can you sell me something pharmaceutical grade? I doubt they can find it in their store….

#2 USANA is the Top Rated Nutritional Supplement Company according to the independent “Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” study

#3 Thousands of World-Class Athletes Trust USANA

  4. This is a steep selling point for many new members who must commit to $29.95 for a starter kit then $130.00 a month for product purchases?

I do applaud your excellent overview of the USANA product line-up.   Honestly, I would not commit to spending $130.00 to be an associate. This type of required monthly auto ship is asse’ in today’s fast paced world.

would consider purchasing the product on my own accord. You explain the excellence of the product thoroughly and provide enough insight into the mission of the company that someone who is interested in this product can be assured that you provide full transparency.  But this type of MLM in today’s fast paced world is a hard sell.  I applaud your tenacity and obvious belief in what you offer.

Thank you for reading my honest USANA Health Sciences review.  Yes the business model may not be for everyone in today’s fast paced world, but for those that value investing in their health – it is worth considering the USANA Health Sciences products.  I’ve been personally using them since 2010 and still going very strong 🙂

  5. You USANA Health Sciences review covers the topic very thoroughly. I like how you talk about the USANA products as well as the business opportunity. It is nice that you have first-hand experience as well as this makes you much more trustworthy. It is a long read however, the way you break it up makes it more visually appealing and not as intimidating. It makes it easier for people to look over the whole article and choose what areas to concentrate on if they are just wondering what topics are covered.

  6. Hi John,

This has been serendipity. I just recently started as an Associate at USANA. And let me tell you: it’s really hard to sell products and recruit other associates to build your team. If I’m gonna be honest, I have talked to a lot of people already, almost exhausting my messenger contacts just to get people to purchase products, which, to the average consumer not really willing to invest or not prioritizing health and wellness, might seem steep indeed. Some purchases were from close friends/family that just wanted to support me. MLM is really no joke. So I have been also looking into Affiliate Marketing because after trying and experiencing this, recruiting and as you said, all these “people stuff” are not for me. I rather prefer a less active way to work, especially that I have a rather demanding full-time job.

THAT SAID…USANA products are truly one of the best if not the BEST. Especially the Cellsentials. I do use the HealthPak, which is very easy and convenient for me as it already comes in AM/PM packets and it can be CUSTOMISED! Plus Proflavanol which has helped my ongoing everyday battle to not flare up my eczema. I looove it. My grandma apparently has also been using the product for years before I even knew USANA and honestly? She has no maintenance at all for being almost close to a century old. Still harvesting her sweet potatoes.

Now I am having a conundrum on whether I still continue this, any thoughts?

    • Hi Jill,
Thanks for reaching out and I can see and feel your dilemma.
The USANA products are for everyone – especially those that recognise the importance of highest rated cellular nutrition and are willing to invest in their own health. Sure some people do not make this a priority but some do. On the other hand, the USANA business opportunity is not for everyone. May I suggest you contact your upline on ways and methods to more effectively help people with their health needs through USANA’s highest quality products. If you are taking the HealthPak you will be commission qualified and may as well continue as an Associate. Then if you can get a few more customers then at least you will be getting some commissions and can view this as a discount on your products.

If you want any help starting an affiliate marketing business, feel free to check out my top free recommendation and i’d be your personal coach and mentor to help you build your own online business.

  7. Hi John

Thank you so much for this incredible review about USANA. As a personal trainer and cyclist I am always looking for quality supplements that may assist in better health and particularly recovery.

Whilst I prefer to obtain my health through food. If you are training hard, sometimes a little assistance is greatly appreciated.

Yes I can see that USANA has some incredible reviews. There are always going to be people complaining for the sake of complaining and sometimes without credible reasons. I will definitely go through their product line, as it is great to see so many positive reviews from both users and distributors.

I will certainly look into your recommendation further: Cellsentials for Optimal Cellular Nutrition as a starting point.

Thank you immensely. Wishing you health and happiness also John!

  8. Hi John! Thank you for your very detailed review! I don’t know Usana, and it certainly sounds like a great supplement. I always prefer the natural approach and don’t like patents on products. However, it seems to work very well, reading lots of reviews about the products. You have already had positive experiences with Usana, and you are describing the products and the business possibilities very honestly. I use quite good supplements that benefit the body instead of burdening it with chemical waste, and I am always open to finding better products. However, I also think that people have to change their lifestyle, eat healthily, do sports, and reduce their stress level. Combined with an excellent supplement, they will detox daily, which speeds up their healing.
I enjoyed reading your article very much, and have learned a lot from your information. Thank you very much! Blessings, Sylvia

  9. Hi John, Looks like you have really outdone yourself with this article.
This really does seem like this is a company with very good quality products. I would be interested in promoting myself but truth be told never really been much of a fan of the MLM model. I am always open to promoting high quality but I do wonder if this with its commission structure is really worth my time.

    • Thanks for your comments Alex,
Yes the products are for everyone but the business model is not for everyone.
The key takeaways for the products and science could be summarised as:
Dr Myron Wentz PhD is a remarkable scientist, virologist and immunologist that has spent decades become an expert in the human cell. The whole focus and premise of USANA Health Sciences is driven by this – optimal nutrition at the cellular level.

I used to buy Store bought multivitamins like Centrum and Blackmores. So when I read the independent “Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” study by Nutrisearch, I was shocked at how poor they are. USANA is the Top Rated Nutritional Supplement Company according to this study and I have been a happy consumer since 2010.

In terms of the income model, it can be promoted as an affiliate for those who have an interest in highest grade nutritional supplements and helping people. So a real option for affiliate or online marketers is this.
It is not a flat commission structure but to simplify and optimize things with the binary model, the allocation of points can easily be varied in the back office to help with consistency of income.

Feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] if you have any more questions.

It is a very clean looking website that ties in well with the health side of things. You personally come across as an honest hard working  family man.

Everything I would want to know about has been covered and I especially like your quick navigation tool. Moving between the pages on your site is easy and I feel as if you are really trying to help me. You are a firm believer in affiliate marketing and it shows that you are more concerned with the person than the product.

So, in a nutshell, beautifully laid out, well balanced and very informative and helpful. I would be very comfortable purchasing any service that you recommend as I feel you have the customers best interest at heart.

Hi, thanks for this review on Usana Health Sciences, It a great thing that the founder of USANA is known and a genuine scientist, this is crucial because most of the MLM scams do not tell you who founded it. It is also a good thing that All of USANA’s products are science based and health product clinically tested and have positive testimonial from professionals such as  Dr OZ.

I agree with you that it is a bit pricey for the average consumer but if you can afford it than it is a good investment as outlined.

So you and anyone considering the product can have confidence in this.  It is a good investment, I am a happy customer since 2010.  As for the average consumer, it all depends on people’s choices about what they value.  Some value their health and are willing to invest in it, some are not.

I am already taking a lot of vitamins and supplements, so I am surely not against taking them or selling them. Reading more about USANA it looks good to me that all their products contain no gluten or harsh chemicals or parabens, that is pretty important to me!

Given that they have been on the market for a long time, they have certainly managed to gain the trust of customers and users of their products during all this time, so I believe in their quality – which I can clearly see is the highest and best in the industry.

As far as business opportunities are concerned, I am not a supporter of MLM systems, because those systems mainly serve those who have been involved from the beginning and who have a greater reach. Smaller entrepreneurs, however, ultimately work mostly for others, not for themselves. I agree that affiliate marketing is more appropriate.
I wish you all the best

I’m glad you could recognise that the USANA Health Sciences product are the highest quality in the industry.  There is definitely a market for those products.  Particularly the health conscious or beauty conscious people who want the highest standard for their cellular nutrition – which is what our bodies are all made up of.

The market is growing with the USANA Health Sciences  Quarter 4 of 2020 results exceeding expectations with a 14.5% Sales growth.  This brings annual sales to $1.135 billion.

So clearly the products are for everyone, and increasingly many health and beauty conscious people are buying them.  But the business model does not suit everyone.  The very good products are actually independently rated #1 in the industry. they are remarkable.

So I agree with you with the business model, some people love the face to face interaction, sales, and helping people, and others don’t. So each to their own.

In contrast, affiliate marketing suits many other people who don’t want the recruiting and selling to family and friends and the awkwardness and pressure that can come with that.

So the business really depends on each person. Personally I LOVE the products and what they do for my own health and the health of my loved ones, friends, people I care about.

If you would like to try the products to suit the health needs of you and your family, I am always happy to help, so feel free to contact me at [email protected] at any stage in the future.

Thank you for introducing Usana to us. I like the founder’s vision “I dream of a world free from the pain and suffering of degenerative disease”!
This looks like a legitimate company, I can only wish that he gets people as passionate as him to achieve this vision because this is exactly what our world needs. Good health and well being should be in our priority list.

So I agree with you – Yes if you prefer Zero selling and Zero recruiting, then to build your own online business around your passion, hobbies or interests could be a better fit.

As you say, you won’t see immediate results as you would from a straight sale (e.g. vitamins), but like any good business, even brick and mortar ones, building a sustainable, profitable online business takes time.

  20. This is a very detailed and comprehensive review of Usana Health Sciences. I would be interested to know if their supplements are organically sourced, or are synthetically produced in a laboratory. When deciding on which supplements to choose, you might find a cheaper product, but then the quality might not be the same or you have to take more tablets to get the RDA, which means you actually spend more on the supplements.

I worked for a Multi Level Marketing company and I am not a fan of the business model. It is almost impossible to make money with a MLM without continuously having to recruit new team members and build your downline. With Usana it seems to be the same, so this is not an opportunity that I would explore further.

    • Thanks for your comments Line,
Sure products are for everyone but the business model does not suit everyone.
Some people love the face to face interaction and helping people, and others don’t.  So each to their own.
I am neutral on the business BUT LOVE the products and what they do for my own health and the health of my loved ones, friends, people I care about.

To answer your product questions.  Fortunately there is a team of 60+ scientists, many Ph.D qualified who are experts in these matters.  So I will reference them.

1, Are the (ingredients for the) supplements organically sourced?
      Which products are organic?
Extract:  “just because an ingredient or raw material is certified organic does not guarantee it is of high quality. In our experience, the consistency and quality of many organic materials has been questionable and not up to our rigorous quality control standards. Generally, though, the main reason for not using organic ingredients more in our product line is that at present there is not often a clear advantage to the consumer.   Many people who use organically farmed products do so because they believe they are either more safe or more nutritious, which may not be universally true for all organic products and ingredients.”
(Read full article here for more information from the expert scientists)

      2. Are (the ingredients) synthetically produced in a laboratory?

      Are supplements natural or synthetic?

      Extract:

“The raw ingredients that go into USANA products come from a variety of sources. Some are derived from plants (our vitamin E, for example, is derived from soy) while others are produced synthetically. Some are derived from natural sources but have been further modified by synthetic steps. Others are derived from fermentation processes.

Natural versus synthetic is just one of the criteria that USANA uses to select the raw ingredients that go into its products. Other factors taken into account are potency, purity, safety, stability, and reliability of supply.

All factors being equal, we will select naturally derived materials over synthetically derived ones.”

Finally I agree with you, that if you were to choose a cheaper (say store bought) multivitamin, quality might not be the same or you have to take more tablets to get the RDA (or optimal cellular nutrition in the case of USANA Health Sciences).

Personally, I trust my health and those of my family to USANA Health Sciences, just like the 2,000+ elite and Olympic athletes. My body feels great and I’m still running, surfing and doing whatever I want, with energy.  Unlike many my age who are slowing down and many people in their 40s or 50s are suffering from chronic degenerative disease (you can research the stats on this – alarming).

So when choosing supplements for your own health, it really is a case of Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware) and different people make their personal choices for their own personal reasons.  I put this company through years of research and testing and loads of questions to them – all well answered by the scientists.

  21. Thanks for writing a review of USANA vitamins. I’ve heard about them because my aunt bought the vitamin supplement.
It’s good for maintaining her health, although she didn’t like to swallow the pills too many times per day. Also, I think this vitamin is somewhat costly. Any recommendation for something with similar effect but less pricey? Thanks

    • Hi and thank you for commenting.
I’m glad to hear that your aunt has experienced the USANA vitamins.
In terms of your question on cheaper alternatives with similar effect, this touches on Price vs Value.  Can I offer you some perspective?

Cost. Costs of supplements are around $1.90/day for this USANA pair. Yes store bought ones like Centrum are far cheaper, but rate much lower in the Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements referred in the article. It’s a personal investment in your health, how much do you spend on other daily things that don’t give you cellular health benefits like coffee?  So if you are considering cheaper supplements you really should consider not just price, but VALUE, notably how effective are USANA products in comparison.

If you do choose the store bought supplements, its also worth noting that they are manufactured to food grade standards, unlike USANA Health Sciences which voluntarily manufactures to Pharmaceutical grade standards.  This means that exactly what is on the label is in the bottle.

Unlike food grade standards which can allow for up to 5% of impurities (this may vary between the different countries depending on their rules. E.g. The TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) in Australia, may have different regulations to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in USA.  Similarly the european countries, asian countries and any country for that matter have different regulations on the extent of impurities in their “food grade standard”.

Another suggestion I can make is to reduce your dosage to match your budget.  If money is really that tight.  Lets say you have only $1 per day to invest in your health.  (say $30 a month) and this is what you are comfortable choosing.  Then you simply match your USANA dose to that budget.

If that still doesn’t work, then I cannot recommend a lower grade supplement in good conscience, given I already take the highest rated supplements.  However if you want to chance your health, then you may choose to:
      1. Go to the independent “Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” study by Nutrisearch.
      2. Look at the 2nd ranked supplement after USANA Health Sciences and proceed down the list until you find the one that meets your perception of value.
      3. I would encourage you to consider in any alternatives – are they made to food grade standard?  How sure can you be that there are no impurities in their products? and also client testimonials, real ones, not just on their sales pages.

      I hope this helps.

  26. Hi John

The products may be kosher and doing well but this does not mean that it is a viable business opportunity.  Often with MLM you work very hard and receive very little compensation. To spend that much initially and then to continually buy new products to sell, is not a great investment both in money and time. A great product will sell itself but not if it costs that much. People are more reluctant as often the health benefits that are stated  tend to be overstated. I am a great believer if people want to take supplements then they should but I do not understand  what makes these products different?

Thank you for an excellent review.

I agree with your – the Products are for everyone but the business may not be for everyone.
You point out that you believe in people taking supplements but then that “but I do not understand  what makes these products different?“.
This was covered extensively in this review.
The section on USANA’s Top-Rated World-Class Products, covered this in detail (please have another look there).
      In summary:

Many companies can claim to be “the best”. But USANA’s products are world-class. There are 3 unique reasons for this…

#1 USANA’s products are pharmaceutical grade and have many patents for its different products.

If you go into GNC or health food stores and ask, can you sell me something pharmaceutical grade? I doubt they can find it in their store….

#2 USANA is the Top Rated Nutritional Supplement Company according to the independent “Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” study by Nutrisearch.

#3 Thousands of World-Class Athletes Trust USANA

So the differences with other products are quite profound and easy to see and understand.

its amazing how much value we can get from USANA supplements!
The list is endless from mental clarity to more physical strength. The only issue i find challenging is that its not available for purchase from the Local stores and leaves only the online and distributors option for consumers. Could it be to safegaurd the quality and prevent counterfeiting ?

Going by the benefits it has to offer it ought to be a must for every home. The reputation of Dr. Myron Wentz speaks volumes and we look forward to greater advances in the health sciences that would increase human immunity against viruses such as corona virus and make the world a healthier place. Thanks for putting together this honest review and also making bare the business side, just as it is.
More success to your goals. Shalom

    • Thank you for your positive comments.

Yes you have recognised the value and the quality from my review.  Dr Wentz chose the direct selling model which has the key advantage of getting the highest quality products to the consumers without retail markups and other inefficiencies in traditional distribution channels. So their products can’t be found in retail outlets because they sell their products direct by their own “associates” (independent distributors).

Yes this is also a safeguard to maintain the pharmaceutical grade product quality and prevent counterfeiting.  When you buy USANA products direct from an associate, they are labeled and sealed and with a 30 day money back guarantee.  This is the safest way to buy the products.

You are spot on with the importance of good health and immunity, especially at times when there are concerns with global viruses.  I hope this helps, if you have any more specific questions, want specific testimonials or want to buy any products, please see links in the article or ask or email me at [email protected]

Yes USANA Health Sciences are the leader in the industry and the found Dr Myron Wentz is a remarkable individual – Microbiologist, immunologist and virologist.  Most other MLM companies are founded by a corporate suit or a marketer, but Dr Wentz is a remarkable scientist who chose this distribution model to get the best products in the hands of the consumer at a reasonable price.

  34. That’s the thing with MLM based nutritional products. They have a lot of science and expertise to back but when it comes to marketing, but pricing make it not accessible by the lower-income group. That’s the honest truth.

To benefit from the USANA products and associate offers as a business, you need to constantly invest a substantial amount of money and that can be a hard pinch on the pocket. Also, you can’t be successful without learning how to recruit people and that takes a lot of thick skin and going out of your comfort zone.

Great review. I appreciate the fact that you have had personal experience with USANA before you wrote this.

I have also had some interest in this company and its founder Dr. Myron Wentz who seems to have a good track record in the science of Micronutrients and their benefits to our bodies.

I honestly believe that USANA’s products are very good and provide great benefits for our physiology. I also know that they are a bit pricey but understand that USANA is an MLM company meaning that it shares revenues with it’s distributors who help to market the products. For MLM companies this usually means that the price is a bit expensive, but as i said i think the products are really good.

    • Thanks for chiming in Donald,
As you say, the USANA products are at the top end of the products and bit expensive, in fact, they are independently rated number one.
Looking at it purely from the health point of view, many people are happy to be paying that amount as they value that as investment in their families health.  Another way of looking at is is substituted spend, so rather than buying lower quality supplements, beauty/skin care and foods/energy drinks from the stores, whey not buy that from your own shop?
So many people value the highest quality products and are happy to buy them.  Also both preferred customers and associates can buy the products at wholesale (“preferred price”) and also get a further 10% off if they get them regularly (auto order discount).
So thoughts on pricing really depends on how much people value their health.

I like that there are several options for those looking to make money selling USANA’s products. I do however, think MLM opportunities are not right for everyone since making anything substantial requires recruitment. From my experience, it is a skill so very few masters.

it’s wonderful to see you take your health so seriously to ask these questions.
Gundry, MD Vital Reds are created by Dr Grundy, here is an external review of them:
      https://www.highya.com/vital-reds-by-gundry-md-reviews
“Vital Reds is a powdered blend of polyphenol-rich superfruits, natural fat-burning ingredients, and probiotics that Gundry MD advertises will help increase your natural energy, promote digestion, and improve the health and appearance of your skin.”
      The points of difference are:
      1. They are not considered to be in the top 1,600 mulivitamin/antioxidants in the North American market in the independent NutriSearch Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements
      2. USANA’s CellSentials are independently rated #1 in this guide.
      3. Polyphenols are contained in abundance in USANA’s Cellsentials: Ask the Scientists – phytonutrients
Cellsentials contain more antioxidants and minerals overall
Compare the ingredients and potency with USANA’s Cellsentials you will soon see the many advantages of the Vitamins, Minerals and InCelligence Complex in Cellsentials
      Ask the Scientists Cellsentials

In terms of business, whether its Network Marketing with USANA Health Sciences or affiliate marketing, you need to be committed and work hard.  You mention “I hope to earn years of income without any extra work.”, that is residual income which is the goal, work hard at it, with commitment and you can reach it!

    • Hi Brandon,
Thanks for reading my review and thank you for your questions.  I agree there are so many network marketing companies in the health and wellness niche, so what makes USANA any different.
I have covered this in detail in this part of the post: USANA’s Top-Rated World-Class Products
I’ll recap here.  This is essentially the “USANA difference
Let my begin by focusing on “WHY USANA’s products are the best?”

I doubt they can find it in their store….similarly can the other MLM companies in the health and wellness niche demonstrate this?

#2 USANA is the Top Rated Nutritional Supplement Company according to the independent “Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” study

USANA has loads of scientific authority including being an FDA-Registered facility and obtains third-party verification through the NSF and LGC to confirm what they claim is on their labels is correct and to test for banned substances.

#3 Thousands of World-Class Athletes Trust USANA

2,000+ elite and Olympic athletes take USANA products. They want the best nutrition, recovery, performance and protection for their bodies. These athletes have gold medals and paychecks on the line. For example, WTA tennis professionals.

These 3 reasons speak volumes to me and why I personally choose USANA’s products over all others.

I personally take the products and can testify that they work!  I wouldn’t recommend products, I didn’t know, believe and trust in.  The business opportunity is an entirely different question, covered in detail in the post to allow readers to make best decision for their own goals and objectives.

  44. Hi,

This is the first time I heard about USANA, and I couldn’t find any better article to learn about it. So informative and spread out, easy to consume. I will definitely share this article with some of my friends.

I didn’t know the products USANA is offering, now that I do, is all thanks to your well written article. One question though, do you know if the products are any good for children?

    • Thank you Isaac, I’m glad you enjoyed the article and glad to have introduced you to USANA’s amazing products.
Sure thing – USANA has everyone covered from babies to old age.
USANA produces a version specific for Children called Usanimals and for Teenagers called Body Rox.
Can I share our daughter’s testimony? We have an adopted little girl was born premature and with poor health, we adopted her at 6 months and she was sickly, with acute broncholitis and on 4 medications!.  On our 2nd day as new parents, we started her on Usanimals by crushing it up and adding to her milk formula.  Her acute broncholitis healed within days and she has been growing normally and happily ever since.  Her hair/skin glows, she behaves well and is a beautiful thriving child. Now at 2 years and 10 months she is still thriving.
We take her to playgroup and so many of the other kids are sick often, our little girl hardly has been sick since and even when she has a cough/cold, it passes quickly. We couldn’t be happier!
It is so important for children and teens to get the right nutrition for their critical development stages and I recommend USANA’s products to anyone who wants the best for their children’s health. So yes I recommend them for all children!
I hope this helps, if you have any more specific questions or want specific testimonials, please ask or email me at [email protected]

  45. It does seem like USANA has a lot of strong health benefits when taken routinely. Do you find that most people become associates to help balance out the costs of the products? Do you work with this company?

I know MLM can be a bit tricky, but I am very curious as to how successful you have been with this company.

    Thanks for sharing,

    • Thank you Ciara, great questions!
As you say, the USANA products have a lot of strong health benefits – they are at the top end of the products, in fact, they are independently rated number one.
Costs? Looking just at the flagship product – From my USANA review above, a great product to try is the Cellsentials for Optimal Cellular Nutrition at wholesale customer price (and choose your country). Try them for 3 – 6 months and see if they have the same positive health benefits on you too.
This is the same cost whether you/anyone is a Preferred Customer or an Associate.

To be an Associate, looking at it purely from the health point of view, many people are happy to be paying that around $130+/month to enable them to earn income (Associate) as they value that as investment in their families health.  Another way of looking at is is substituted spend, so rather than buying lower quality supplements, beauty/skin care and foods/energy drinks from the stores, whey not buy that from your own shop?  So many people value the highest quality products and are happy to buy them.

For me personally, I have been happily using the products since 2010 and have had a wonderful product experience and health improvements from taking the Cellsentials. Also our daughter taking the Usanimals (See testimonial in comments on October 10, 2018).  In terms of the business, I have steady residual income from prior years efforts, so that is good too but as I say in my conclusion, I suggested that people have three viable options and its up to my readers to choose what best suits their or your personal circumstances.

  46. Thank you for this great review about USANA, how detailed it is. Never heard of Usana before now, so glad you took the time to give a thorough details about the owner, product and the company. Any business with is multi-level marketing is not always easy. I like the way you enlighten the different between network marketing and affiliate marketing. To me affiliate marketing is easier to get started, its worth the time. Thank you!

  47. Hi John. Reading your review brought back so many memories of my MLM years. I was an Herbalife distributor for many years and actually made great money. I earned enough to quit my day job. However, I got tired of watching people come in and invest their life savings just to lose it all. Like you mentioned in one of your comments, not everyone has the personality to be able to recruit and grow a downline. For me, I made a decision to quit MLM for integrity reasons.

But I never lost my desire of helping people. I quickly found Wealthy Affiliate and I learned how to do affiliate marketing by following my passion. Now 9 years later I have a few websites in different niches. My most profitable website is 100% focused on helping people take responsibility for their nutrition and get healthy. So your Usana products are interesting to me.

Anyways, I just wanted to leave a note and let you know that I really enjoyed reading your post. Thank you!

    • Hey Wendy, nice to meet another retired MLM friend!
That’s tough – watching people come in and invest their lifesavings in Herbalife only to lose it all.  With your conscience and integrity that’s a great decision to walk away from that company and business model with the seemingly huge startup costs. USANA vs Herbalife is different in that regard.  You can get started with USANA for pretty low cost and its all products (other than the $29.95 starter kit) that can be used for great health benefits for anyone’s family.

As I said in the article, the Starter Kit is $29.95 and then its 200 points worth of products to start with 1 business centre.  There are many product packs anyone choose from.  A great value starter pack in the USA is:
      1. Be Healthy Maintain Pack (item# 462) for $279.70 which is the HealthPak (Cellsentials and other products), 2 x Probiotic, 2 x Nutrimeal Dutch Chocolate and 1 x Nutrimeal French Vanilla (200 points) that normally retails at $307.67
This pack serves as foods and optimal cellular nutrition at the same time.  It can also be used as a metabolic control program for weight loss.   So it’s another great way to help people.

Helping people. I hear you and feel the same way.  We can help people just as much with Affiliate Marketing. Depending on your niche, we can help so many people in different ways. That’s another reason why you and I love affiliate marketing so much.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I’m glad you liked my review

  48. Hi John, Thank you for sharing this detailed article on USANA vitamins. You included a lot of information. I try to take a multi-vitamin every day, but I sometimes forget or just don’t take them.
    >> I didn’t know that USANA was one of the leaders in the health science in industry, and is an MLM. That good to understand.>>
Looks like it covers the whole family.  Are they like Herbalife? The cost of USANA is a little high, but you get what you pay for. Right?
I see that you mentioned there’s no iron in this supplement. So that would mean women would have to find an iron supplement to compensate.
    >>I would like to look more into their income opportunity.

    • Thank you LeNard for you interest and detailed questions.
You’re not alone in recognising the importance of taking a daily multivitamin for your own health & yes people do forget!
Yes they do cover the whole family from babies to old age and women of childbearing age (Prenatal version of Cellsentials just designed for women. Don’t get confused by the name, they are ideal for all women of childbearing age or who need iron supplementation.
Cost of USANA products? Yes USANA’s Cellsentials multivitamin/antioxidant are not like the cheap store bought ones, and are the Top Rated Nutritional Supplement Company according to the independent “Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements” study by Nutrisearch.
Cellsentials at around US$1.90/day. I can say that the USANA products are not the cheapest price wise, but given their effectiveness and quality of manufacturing, its an investment in health and beauty that I feel is well worth it. Plus I really feel the benefits. Let me use an analogy, They are like the Rolls-Royce in terms of quality but priced like a Toyota Camry! (so very reasonable for the quality you get).
So I consider that small investment daily in my health to be worth it, Like a nutritional “insurance plan,” a good daily supplement can help fill in the gaps.

      USANA vs Herbalife
, only one company can be rated number one.  However they have the same distribution model which is MLM.

Income opportunity? – the products and the business model appeal to many people, especially given you can help so many people with their health.    I suggest you watch the video above on the USANA Business Opportunity and Compensation Plan.  If you feel it’s for you can enroll here or feel free to contact me for any questions on [email protected]

  49. The USANA Health Sciences products sound like they are top-notch and this is evidenced by the many positive reviews from respected agencies. The problem that I would have with getting involved with them is the MLM aspect of the company. I totally agree that the products themselves are great.

From my experience, such companies generally only reward the top levels of the MLM pyramid, and most of the rest of the ‘associates’ end up spending money monthly to qualify to get commissions, meaning whether they sell or not, they are forced to purchase a certain amount of product.

Over time, what they do not consume ends up in closets, basements, or it gets thrown away when it expires. This is something I have seen first hand with similar companies that I have had first-hand experience with, as in I lost a lot of money.

Often such companies have good products but they are overpriced, and the limited target audience quickly becomes saturated, hence the ever-growing stocks of the minimum purchase of products that you must make to be able to sell and get commissions for.

Most definitely I would go with affiliate marketing over network marketing any day of the week. With affiliate marketing, you have to do the initial work up front to write reviews and test products, but there is no ongoing requirement to keep buying at all. To the contrary, once that upfront work is done, you can earn for months and years without any additional work (or very little).

Good advice you are providing in this review. Good products, bad program to spend your time and money on, in my opinion. Thanks for a thorough review.

It’s true that higher cost could be a slight limitation. But if more numbers of people are giving good reviews, then I feel it’s worth it. Better if you include couple of more reviews. Apart from it your analysis is much detailed and unbiased. Also you’ve given your no. 1 suggestion for the people who can’t pay higher amount. That’s great.

  52. This is the first time hearing about USANA vitamins or reading any USANA review. But I Love the Dr. Myron Wentz’s philosophy and quote: “In a sense, we are living too short and dying too long.” I personally take a multi-vitamin every day but it is a mass produced brand that I can easily find in a general supply store. So I am happy to see the women version: Prenatal version of Cellsentials. And the different versions for kids and teenagers. I am impressed by the research, science and innovation of products tailored to different types of people. After all, we are not generic. But yet I’ve been taking a generic vitamin. I will definitely check out USANA and your personal vitamin recommendations through your links. Thanks.

So, it’s imperative that we get good value for money spent. I believe the usana supplements would be a welcome addition to our daily meals, especially the celavive products. However, I wouldn’t involve myself as an associate because I’m not really a good sales person. Thanks for sharing this, Louis

  54. Usana Review .Are they worth the money?

This is a direct sales company, started by Dr. Myron Wentz, Who spent a lifetime studying human cell regeneration with his team of scientists, and after investigating all the supplements available, found nothing that he could use among them.

Has anyone else investigated this problem? what are others saying about this? There are far too many people dying before their time due to degenerative diseases, Cancer, heart attacks etc.

Cellsentials  is USANA’s main product line, the Vita Antioxidant, and Multi-mineral Plus are 2 main products,You take 2 tablets from each bottle, twice a day, a total of 8 tablets daily. All essential  vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants.  I love the products!

I am very much a a consumer of various supplement, and I am very disciplined on that. I believe that taking supplements prevents so many diseases because they boost and strengthen the body immune system.

According to the information in your post the USANA products are very good. Thus, I am interested in the discovering these products because of their values. But the MLM aspect is not attractive to me because I have had very difficult experiences with that business model.

  57. Hi John – thanks for sharing this in-depth review, certainly plenty of food for thought. There’s no argument as to the quality and effectiveness of the products themselves, but I am not a fan of network marketing. It does seem somewhat different to other companies, in that customers order the products themselves. However, at the end of the day, it seems to be all about ongoing recruitment, and that doesn’t appeal to me at all. I will stick to affiliate marketing as I know its worth all the time and effort. 60. It’s nice to know there are companies with founders that care more about cashing in on the pain of others. To be fair, I won’t name any other companies specifically, but there are some that really just want the money that comes from the purchases of expensive medicines. Meantime, they’re telling people they care about their health, yet they’re using drug formulations that are actually causing more severe health conditions and even death.

USANA is proving they really do care about the well-being of their consumers by using as few ingredients in their products as possible. It really WOULD be nice to live in a world free of degenerative diseases!

USANA is different, the founder says it all and this is ingrained in the culture and every aspect of the USANA’s research, manufacturing (choosing the purest, highest quality ingredients, meticulous quality control) and products. “I dream of a world free from the pain and suffering of degenerative disease. Share my vision. Love life and live it to its fullest in happiness and health.”

      1. Are these vitamins produced by USANA natural?  Here’s a useful response from Ask The Scientists ARE SUPPLEMENTS NATURAL OR SYNTHETIC?, all factors being equal USANA’s R&D team select naturally derived materials over synthetically derived ones and they explain the misconceptions here.

  63. John,

It sounds like the USANA products are very good ones, indeed! In reading your review, what really caught my attention was the quote about very few of us will die of old age! That is a very telling fact of our world today where cancer, heart disease, diabetes and a plethora of other ailments plague us.

I have been a part of so many MLM programs and would not wish to be a sales person for USANA, but I certainly am interested in high quality supplements that will make me healthier (not just “feel” healthier, but actually “be” healthier!)

Since I live in Minnesota, Vitamin D is a necessity, especially in the winter! Seems like winters are getting longer as I get older! BRRRR….

As I am aging, too (aren’t we all?), I like that the company also puts out skin care products. It seems like the skin is always a give-away to our age and keeping skin healthy longer is a definite plus. My wrinkles may tell the story of the miles I’ve walked, but I’d rather they not tell ALL of them! 🙂

I do like that USANA rates so much higher than the other brands out there. It is actually kind of scary when I see how low on the scale some of the other supplements I take or have taken rate… Ugh… that seems more like a waste of money…

Honestly, I just skimmed over the parts about becoming an associate, since I have no desire to become one at all—been there, done that!

I didn’t see anywhere, but I assume that USANA has products for helping with diabetes. Do they? Also, if I only wanted to buy certain products, can I do that or do I have to purchase the “packages?”

Thank you and I look forward to hearing your replies!

    Best wishes,Karin 🙂

I agree with your assessments and that the products are for everyone interested in a nutritional “insurance” plan or optimal health for themselves and their loves ones, the business is not for everyone.

In terms of the product questions you ask:
      1. yes Vitamin D is essential especially in winters where there is low sun.  Like all the USANA products, they are pharmaceutical grade and the highest quality so please check out the link.
      2. In terms of common over the counter and cheaper supplements that rate poorly in the independent Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements, its not just that they rate poorly, but many of the cheaper brands include binders/fillers that can be toxic, so are best avoided.
      3. In terms of Diabetes, here is some advice from Ask the Scientists: Can diabetics follow the RESET program and yes the 5-Day RESET™ Jump Start kit is a perfect place to start for people with Type 2 Diabetes.

  64. I’ve heard a lot of USANA here but it’s just another MLM business out there with good supplements for health. Money wise, for start up and monthly maintenance, I grew tired of such business that’s why I prefer affiliate marketing more.

Health wise, if it’s really good for health, then why is a person maintaining it every month? And you need to consume a lot. So it’s not helping people to get good health but more on MLM business. It’s not only USANA but same as other health products MLMs. It’s more like a monthly expensive maintenance medicine. If you stop taking it, the sickness will plague you to go back to it or back to store bought medicine. I speak through experience.

Sorry for I’m kind of negative for I’ve been there and never have good incomes in these kind of MLM companies.

I’m still in MLM business here but I’m so choosy and USANA isn’t for me at all. There’s one that I’m in now that I’m absolutely earning without running around recruiting or selling products. No need to buy but I can invest, the company sells and I earn as an investor without worries.

I’m not promoting my company, just saying it. Actually, I’m a plain user of MLM health products. Just a buyer member.

    • Hello Eli, Thanks for your comments and also sharing so much about your personal experience.
I’m glad you like the review.  I agree with your assessments and that the products are for everyone interested in a nutritional “insurance” plan or optimal health for themselves and their loves ones, the business is not for everyone.
Thank your for your question, about Health wise, if it’s really good for health, then why is a person maintaining it every month?
Here’s a good post on the common question that you are also touching on, “if I eat a healthy diet, do I still need to take supplements?” it touches on the rise in chronic degenerative disease, In June 2002, the Journal of the American Medical Association published two articles by health researchers at Harvard University. The articles were entitled “Vitamins for Chronic Disease Prevention in Adults”.
The scientific evidence supporting health benefits of nutritional supplements is solid and growing daily, and more health care professionals than ever before are now siding with these conclusions.

I’ll add to that – good health and nutrition is like bathing, we need to do it daily.   I agree also, it is better to be a buyer member.  Thanks again, John

  65. When I heard about any MLM, I try to stay away from such an offer. You did a comprehensive review of USANA, and I am sure that the product itself is really good.

My stepdaughter is involved in similar health care, and beauty MLM called ZinZino. I can see how difficult is to convince people to buy. From the other hand, I purchased the first set for €161 and am using some oils by myself.

It is hard to say about the effect of those balance oil as it is said that need to use at least a half a year. We’ll see.

Wow, that is a lot of money €161 for your first set of oils,  I hope you notice some positive effects as that is a LOT of money!  I’ll consider doing a review into therapeutic grade essential oils in the future as this is growing in popularity,  Thanks again, John

I didn’t really know a lot about USANA before I read your article but you explained the pros and cons about them perfectly, your article was really well researched and the detail you have gone into really helps you make a informed choice about whether to buy the products and/ or the business opportunities.

    • Thanks you Hannah, I really appreciate your positive feedback. I did put a lot of effort into the research and to present a balanced perspective on both the products and business opportunities.  Being involved since 2010 has given me a lot of experience to draw upon.  I’m glad it helps you make an informed choice.

  68. I tend to agree with you on this – I have heard of Usana products before and they are on the top end of MLM products as far as quality goes (i.e. they are very good and popular).

The problem is, as you rightly point out – the business model.

I mean, first off – $29.95 for Starter Kit + $130+/month for product purchases. People don’t seem to realise that they are going to have to be solid marketers to make any sort of money through this rate every month.

How long were you a member there and what success did you see?

    • Thanks Chris, you have picked up on the key costs to the business model.
As you say, the USANA products are at the top end of the products, in fact, they are independently rated number one.

For me persoanlly, I have been happily using the products since 2010 and have had a wonderful product experience and health improvements from taking the Cellsentials. Also our daughter taking the Usanimals (See testimonial in comments on October 10, 2018).   In terms of the business, I have steady residual income from prior years efforts, so that is good too. But as I say in my conclusion, I suggested that people have three viable options and its up to my readers to choose what best suits their or your personal circumstances.

  69. It is the first time I have heard about these vitamin supplements.  They do sound like they are high quality and taking care of one’s health is a good action.  It seems sad though we can’t just get proper nutrition from just eating healthy food.  If I encountered this product where I live I would just buy it for myself and not sell it.  It seems to much investment of time and money for very little pay off.  Still, some people must like doing it and are finding some success from it otherwise the vitamins would not be circulating.

    • Thank you for your comments.  Yes USANA vitamins and personal care products are the highest quality.
There are so many problems with modern food lacking adequate nutrition, farming practices, chemicals in our lives and overall the “RDA” levels being inadequate.  Here’s a good post on the common question that you are also touching on, “if I eat a healthy diet, do I still need to take supplements?” it touches on the rise in chronic degenerative disease, In June 2002, the Journal of the American Medical Association published two articles by health researchers at Harvard University. 70. This company looks interesting. I have mixed feelings about MLMs in general, because of the pay to get paid model you describe in the cons section of this article. But if they’re selling a real product that does good, I can understand that type of marketing plan, even if I don’t really like it. I appreciated your explanation of why this isn’t a pyramid scheme. It made sense. I don’t think I would get into this as an associate, but the products look very interesting, and I might have to look into those.

  71. You really did your homework on this one. Looks like an income opportunity I would steer clear of. I appreciate your honestly about the likelihood of making profit with this company plan. I know personally I would never buy vitamins from an individual, I would prefer to do my own research and purchase from the source. I may buy the beauty regimen but it’s pricey.

Pricey?  Sure they aren’t cheap but they work.  You’ll be amazed if you try Celavive, so many people are experiencing more beautiful, younger looking skin.  What price is worth paying for these beauty benefits?

  72. Wow! Thank you for this very comprehensive article about USANA. I have heard of this company and was interested in becoming an associate because it seemed like an ethical company that offers very sound, science-based products. However, as your article pointed out I do not really like recruiting and I don’t think my time and energy would be best placed in trying to sell USANA products. Thank you so much for digging deeper and getting all the facts about this on-line business I believe you have saved me a lot of time and frustration. What is your favorite on-line business venture out there?

  73. Thank you for sharing this wonderful review USANA. It is nice to know that they do have quality products that do work and that they are not a scam, but it still does look difficult to make money with if you’re an associate of theirs. I had joined something kind of similar to USANA years ago that had a similar structure to them in terms of earning money, but just like USANA, you had to buy a certain amount of product from them each month. I decided that it just wasn’t for me because I couldn’t afford to purchase that product each month. I know someone who may benefit from USANA’s products though so I will share this with them. How long have you used their products such as their vitamins?

    • Thanks you Andrea, I’m glad you liked the review.  In terms of the products for the health of your children and family, I’ll provide the testimonial of our little daughter again.
I am an avid product user of the USANA products and they are the best in so many ways.  I have countless testimonials.  The children and teens versions of Cellsentials are wonderful.  USANA produces a version specific for Children called Usanimals and for Teenagers called Body Rox. Now at 2 years and 5 months she is still thriving.

We take her to playgroup and so many of the other kids are sick often, our little girl hardly has been sick since and even when she has a cough/cold, it passes quickly. We couldn’t be happier!

I have heard great testimonials about the Body Rox too for 12-18 year olds.

  75. Okay, I love this!  I really can’t stand MLM, but that’s okay.  It looks like it might be a pretty good product and I bookmarked the page so I could have a think about it and come back to it later.

I do like the charts you put up.  I have tried MLM marketing before, and haven’t been all that pleased with it.  So, despite the fact that this was advertising the MLM you really weren’t.  It was very informative and well researched.  You knew what you were talking about and the research with the comparisons was great and very useful!

I do definitely want to look back on it, but at this time, it just might have to wait a little while.

But, this is really great!  Thank you!  It’s given me something to definitely think about 🙂

  76. Hi there and thank you being so thorough and honest in your review. You clearly state that you can earn money from the supplements but you rightly point out that it’s not always a sustainable business. And you also give a great real alternative for new affiliate marketers to consider. Thanks again, Kenny

  77. A very indepth review! There are so many health programs out there, and most of them are blatant MLM’s where only the top dogs make the big money. Trust me, I’ve been there (won’t say names) and I’ve seen people get burned badly…

The thing that convinced me was when you said that you cannot make money by recruiting people. This is key!

The products are pricey indeed, but from what I’ve read they seem to be worth it. So I will definately check into this more. Thanks again for well explaining what Usana is about.

    • Thank you Jurgen for your positive feedback.  I agree with you and also my summary that, USANA’s products are the best in the world so as a consumer you can use their products to benefit your health and with complete confidence. Pricey?  Sure they aren’t cheap, but the quality and health benefits are important to so many people and I feel well worth it (Check out my daughter’s testimonial in the other comment on 9th October 2018).

The opportunity? It’s difficult for most people to make money with their MLM system, however it is entirely possible for others. You may want to become a customer of USANA and not an associate initially.  In my opinion, if you don’t like recruiting, people and leadership, the network marketing and MLM opportunities may not be right for you. Their business models work mainly for certain types of people. If you’re looking for a more passive, work from home and clear-cut way to make money online you could also consider affiliate marketing.

  78. Hi John,

I’m so glad to read your well detailed post on USANA review and I have really learned a lot. It’s my first time to hear about USANA and the products they offer. From this post I’ve learned that the products they are offering can actually be good for health to all age groups.

I like your experience with the products and I wanted to enquirer more on the children and teens products that you talked about. Do you have a personal experience with these products and how helpful are they? Would you recommend them for children and teenagers who have a retarded growth?

I’ve bookmarked this post for future reference and I’m sure I will be needing this information more in future.

    Best wishes,

  79. Although USANA is not a scam I don’t prefer MLM companies or MLM networks. Just like you have said affiliate marketing have more benefits then network marketing and rewards are far bigger. Everyone who is staring online should definitely choose affiliate marketing. It is not hard to start and investments are minimal.

I have done something similar to this with another vitamin company.  It required a large start up capital. How much is needed to get going with this one?

I will keep it in mind.  If I want to look into this type of business again.

The information is well written and easy to understand.

    Keep up the good work

The start up costs are pretty reasonable here.
As I said, the Starter Kit is $29.95 and then its 200 points worth of products to start with 1 business centre.  There are many product packs you can choose from.
Or you can make an order personalised to you – For a personalised assessment of which products are best suited to your personalised nutrition taking into account your lifestyle, habits, ailments etc. Feel free to contact me with any specifics at [email protected]. I’d be happy to help.

  81. Hi John,

First and foremost, excellent article. I am in the supplement space and I have never actually heard of these vitamins until I read this. After reading your article, I went over to USANA’s website and I must say these look like very high quality vitamins with excellent ingredients. I am definitely going to consider giving these a go in the future. I also agree with your comments about the price of quality vitamins. You really can’t put a price on something that is going to change your health for the better.
