Use this before you pay
An online program, course, or “system” is a product someone is selling. A review, including a review on this site, is one person’s write-up. It cannot tell you what you will earn. This page is a checklist you can use before you enter a card number. It is not financial, legal, or tax advice.
Earn From Your Laptop does not sell this checklist and does not take payment on these pages. Some reviews link to sellers and may earn a commission. Read the affiliate disclosure so you know what that means. The commission should not change the price the merchant charges you.
Who is selling it
Write down the legal name of the seller, the country they say they operate from, and a support address that is not only a web form. Search that name along with “refund”, “complaint”, and “review”. A polished sales page is not the same thing as a company you can contact. If you cannot find a name, stop.
Check whether the page you landed on is the same product as the page that asks for payment. Sales pages and homepages sometimes describe different things: different prices, different bonuses, or a different refund window. If they disagree, ask the seller in writing which terms apply.
What you would actually get
List the deliverables in plain language. Examples: a login to videos, a software download, a group chat, a physical product, or leads. Separate those from outcomes such as “replace your job” or “passive income”. Outcomes are not deliverables. You can judge a stack of videos. You cannot judge a promise about your future income from the sales page.
Note what is included in the first price and what is an upsell. Many offers show a low first number and add coaching, software, or “done for you” services at checkout. The number that matters is the total you would be charged if you clicked yes through the checkout, plus any renewal.
Price, renewal, and refunds
Copy the price, the billing period, and the refund rule from the seller’s own page, not from a review. Look for the refund window in days, who pays return shipping, and whether a bonus or an upsell is excluded. A refund policy that only appears in a video, or that says “contact us and we’ll see”, is weaker than a written policy on the seller’s site.
If the offer is a subscription, find how to cancel and whether the cancellation has to happen before a trial ends. Save a copy of the terms on the day you buy. Pages change.
Income and scarcity claims
Treat specific earnings, screenshots of balances, and “students who did this in 30 days” as advertising. Ask whether the figure is typical. If the seller does not say it is typical, assume it is not. A countdown timer, “only a few spots”, or “the price goes up tonight” is a sales tactic. It is not evidence that the product works.
Be especially careful with anything that pays you to recruit other buyers. That structure can be a lawful affiliate program or an unlawful pyramid scheme, depending on the facts. A blog post cannot settle that. If the money comes mainly from recruiting, get independent advice before you pay.
How to use a review on this site
Archive reviews were often written before the current operator took over the domain. Use them as a starting list of questions, then check the seller yourself. A high score means the original author liked the product then. A headline that says “scam” means the original author was worried. Neither one is a current test, and neither one is your result.
Ignore buttons inside old posts that say a method is the author’s number one recommendation or that a beginner will earn with it. Those buttons are leftover. They are not a recommendation from the current operator. Start with how this site is organized if you want the map of the archive.
A short stop list
- Stop if you cannot find who gets the money.
- Stop if the refund rule is missing or contradicts the checkout.
- Stop if the pitch leads with income and will not describe the actual product.
- Stop if you are told to keep the program secret or to recruit before you have used it.
- Stop if anyone asks for your password, a copy of your card, or a payment by gift card or wire to a person.
