Once you become a member, there are plenty of ways you can earn cash.

And according to their claims, you earn actual cash and not just points. This is what makes them quite different from other survey sites.

Other surveys sites will require you to gather a certain amount of points first before you can redeem it and exchange it for cash.

You earn a few bonuses along the way from extra cash cards. If you’re lucky, you can get extra $10 or $20 from cash cards, or maybe even $100.

I’ll share more insights on Inbox Dollars by letting you look at these reviews. According to BBB.Org, there are over 800+ complaints about Inbox Dollars.

However, 400+ were also resolved. This indicates that they take action and pay attention to problems if there are any.

Overall, it has a score of 4.12 stars out of 5 after being reviewed by over 1,000 customers in BBB.org.

Here are some of the positives and negatives, to show you the complete honest review you are looking for.

Inbox Dollars Positive Reviews

While Inbox Dollars is smaller compared to its sister survey sites, it is loved and preferred by some users according to some reviews here.

As I investigated further, more negative reviews on Inbox Dollars are regarding this matter. BBB.org and the company has responded that it is due to certain violations.

Apparently, some users were found using VPN which resulted in banning and not letting them get the money.

If this was true, who would you side with? I would side with the company since there are rules we must follow – after all, we are already being paid for doing basic tasks.

Is Inbox Dollars A Scam?

Finally, we get down to the big question… you guessed it, is this site legitimate? Is Inbox Dollars A Scam? The short answer which I’ve told you a few times already: NO, it is not a scam.

Is Inbox Dollars A Scam?
Is Inbox Dollars A Scam?

The company is verified and rated A+ by Better Business Bureau or BBB.org.

However, it is also not the perfect place to earn big bucks. Inbox Dollars is fantastic for those who want to earn extra during their extra time.

If I were you, I would rather get a part time job somewhere else and earn twice the amount for spending the same amount of time I would spend on survey sites.

But understandably, during the time of pandemic or simply being stuck at home, we’d rather do things like this.

Well, to be completely transparent with you. I am not a regular Inbox Dollars user nor am I one of their brand partners. Furthermore, I do not endorse Inbox Dollars or any of the brands partnered with them in any way.

I have spent a good amount of time researching the website, reading testimonials, and studying information on the Internet to get to the bottom of what Inbox Dollars really does. This is because sites just like this have burned me in the past, and I want to keep others from going down the same path I did. Reasons Why Inbox Dollars Is Good (Advantages)

Before I let you in on my final thoughts about Inbox Dollars, allow me to showcase the good things I liked about this website.

Is Inbox Dollars A Scam?
Is Inbox Dollars Worth It?
Reasons Why Inbox Dollars Is Good
Is Inbox Dollars Worth It? Here’s why it can be.

Guaranteed to earn cash and multiple options to earn

Your cash is secured and the cash out goal is low that is $30 alone.

There are daily polls that can give you cash and there are many ways to earn money – you won’t get bored of it so quickly.

You can also multitask – helps you save time while earning a few cents on the side!

Chance to win bonuses and more

You can earn gift cards, extra cash, and other great things just by using Inbox Dollars without having to worry about any kind of loss.

Quick, simple, and fun surveys

There is a wide range of choices for the surveys, and most of them are not time limited as well. Meaning, it doesn’t quickly expire and you can take them any time.

User friendly website and app

The site is neatly optimized making it easy to use for anyone using any device.

Excellent and responsive customer service

They have a very helpful FAQ page and responsive customer service. They take action upon receiving emails and resolve errors if there are any – highly cooperative.

Reasons To Avoid Inbox Dollars (Disadvantages)

And now, here are the reasons why I would avoid Inbox Dollars and you might consider these reasons too.

Is Inbox Dollars A Scam?
Is Inbox Dollars Worth It?
Reasons To Avoid Inbox Dollars
Here are 5 big reasons to avoid Inbox Dollars

Disappearing accounts

There are numerous reports of people’s accounts being deactivated for no reason. For example, someone would receive an email and say that they got an offer to redeem something and when they do, their account just vanishes.

Sometimes, they get an email explaining why their accounts got deactivated, why they suddenly got banned and sometimes there are no explanations at all.

This results in losing all your progress and the time you spent in using Inbox Dollars. If you are the secure type, you wouldn’t want to risk it.

Missing Cash

If your account doesn’t disappear, some of your earned cash does not become credited to you. Due to various reasons, some people have reported losing or missing cash in their accounts.

While I haven’t used Inbox Dollars myself, I honestly would end up not wanting to risk it. My time is more valuable than this.

Bugs – Inability to Redeem

And if your cash doesn’t disappear, you might encounter problems redeeming your money. You may cash out but sometimes, the button just doesn’t work, or you’ll run into an error.

This is also according to numerous reports and reviews.

Difficulty qualifying for surveys

Now this is a common negative point for most survey sites – people are struggling to become qualified for fair paying surveys.

However, this could be a result of not accurately answering surveys but if you’re the honest type and still don’t get qualified – this con can be frustrating to deal with.

Takes time and patience to earn

It does not make you earn big bucks therefore you need time and patience to earn a significant amount that you can cash out that is $30 – while the tasks may seem effortless, it still demands attention and your valuable time.

This can be tiring, but if you are determined, then that is entirely up to you!

Inbox Dollars Compared to Other Paid Survey Sites – Interest Has Declined

Is Inbox Dollars A Scam? Google Trends growth

The world of paid survey sites is competitive. There is a ton of competition in the industry. As you can see the level of interest in Inbox Dollars worldwide is very low compared to the industry giants – Swagbucks and My Points. When I take away those big competitors and analyze just the level of interest in Inbox Dollars, yes there was a spike in interest in mid 2020 but this has clearly declined since.

This could be another red flag in that the interest in Inbox Dollars has clearly declined over 2020, which indicates it is losing ground compared to competing paid survey sites.

Final Thoughts On Inbox Dollars

At last, let’s hear our final thoughts about Inbox Dollars!

Is Inbox Dollars A Scam?
Is Inbox Dollars A Scam?

Inbox Dollars is a great website. It is a trusted company and can be relied on for earning small amounts of cash. Another impressive fact is that anyone from any part of the world can participate.

But here’s the catch: If you’re looking to make REAL money online, survey sites like Inbox Dollar will not satisfy you. I know for sure, I won’t be satisfied.

Perhaps it is enough to keep me amused for a few minutes while I sit on the toilet or sit through commercial breaks as I watch TV – but it’s only ever good as spare change.

Even if I put more time and effort in these type of websites, I’ll be wasting my energy when I could’ve spent it on something more productive and help me earn more.

Don’t get me wrong, these sites are fantastic especially if you really have nothing – it’s almost like FREE cash for doing small favors like reading emails or answering questionnaires.

But personally and honestly, I would rather go for something bigger – to achieve more!

A Better Alternative To Make Money From Home!

Instead of spending hours answering surveys that could only be worth only a small amount each month, spend your time more efficiently by learning how to start your own online business.

How? Through Affiliate Marketing!

One of my favorite ways to make money online or from home is through affiliate marketing. What is affiliate marketing? Trust me, it’s way better than answering surveys. So, why affiliate marketing?

  1. You are free to promote anything you want – you can have your own business
  2. You don’t need any inventory of products to sell, you simply promote other people products
  3. All you need is your computer with internet connection – so you have freedom to work from home or work from anywhere
  4. Your efforts are cumulative – as you put in consistent effort your traffic and income grows and you can continue to earn. Unlike survey sites where you only ever earn pocket change
  5. Your earning potential is unlimited, many people make full-time incomes and you can also outsource and scale your online business
  6. Even complete beginners can do it with the right training – here’s what I recommend and I can personally mentor you to help you earn.

My advice is to invest your precious time into building your own real online business to give you income you can rely on longer term, rather than trying to earn pocket change by playing with mobile apps in your spare time. So If you are looking for a genuine way to earn a real income at home then this program is for you — plus, it’s free to get started. And if you want to do this full-time, going premium is just $49/month. Also I will personally help you.

In the end, you’ll learn valuable skills and earn more than the time you’d spend on survey sites!

  1. I was able to cash out $50.00 after a very long time, but once I did suddenly I was no longer getting surveys. Updated the app and I’ll get notifications for surveys but when I click on them nothing comes up. So while I was not burned in terms of pay out I have been limited on how to earn on the site.

    • Hello A.D.!
Thanks so much for reaching out to me, I am glad that you liked my honest Inbox Dollars Review.
Sharing your real user experience is wonderful because it helps inform readers of even further problems and issues to consider of you or anyone wants to make money from Inbox Dollars. Seems like if you make $50 or more, they limit you.

Seriously readers this is clearly NOT a way to make money online other than a bit of pocket change.
If you or any readers want to learn more about options for online business and to build your own real online business using affiliate marketing if you choose, then click on the button in the article or email me at [email protected].

I really look forward to personally helping you or any reader who chooses this.
      Let’s achieve success, John

  2. It’s not technically a scam, but only technically. They deliberately manipulate and deceive to get you to waste as much time getting as little as possible. It’s unethical and sleazy.

A lot of the stuff claims to “earn” when what it really does is increase your progress bar towards a *possible* chance at a gift card or prize which may not be something you even want. **That is not “earning”.** That is “lying to the user”.

Many of their other options are bugged, nonexisting, make you waste a bunch of time qualifying (which you usually don’t, then you get $0.0) for a small chance at earning. Please, if you’re reading this, don’t fall for their bollocks. This is NOT a place where you just go take a survey for 15 minutes and then fill it out and get your $1.25 and then just go do another one. Can easily spend an hour just trying to find something, anything half-decent and make a whole 50 cents that whole hour.

Don’t waste your time giving the scam artists the satisfaction. They are no better than an MLM.

    • Hi Daniel,
I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, share your real experience and help other people.
Thanks so much for sharing your horrible experience with Inbox Dollars.
As terrible as this was for you – by you being brave and speaking out here you are also helping many other people who read these independent reviews.
Given the recent real user experiences, I am downgrading the rating for Inbox Dollars.

      • Thanks. They cheated me a fair amount. I eventually got $30 out of them. I’m still trying to get the last $10 they admit they owe me (but won’t actually send to me). Another $20-30 I just didn’t get and they say I shouldn’t – and it’s not worth spending hours and hours to fight them over it, especially since, while brazenly unethical, it might not technically be illegal of them anyway.

        • I agree Daniel, it’s not worth spending hours and hours to fight them over the the final small amount.
You have done a greater community service by sharing your bad experience with Inbox Dollars to help warn other people who may be considering putting time and effort into Inbox Dollars.
As Daniel say – don’t do this.

Seriously all readers, in terms of making money online or making money from home, personally I would much rather build a real online business that helps people than this false “opportunity” (get paid peanuts if you are lucky). Instead why not go for building your own online business that is fact based, proven since 2005 and a lot more quality (Training, tools, mentoring, community & support) and for reasonable pricing. This is why I recommend this over all others. And yes you have read that there is no need for any credit card information to create a free account to see if it suits your style. Better to invest your valuable time here rather than wasting your time trying to earn Pocket Change with Inbox Dollars (or any paid survey site)

    • Thanks so much for sharing your horrible experience Sherri.
As awful as this was for you – by you being conscientious, brave and speaking out here you are also helping many other people who read these independent reviews.

Please note that my website is an INDEPENDENT REVIEW – I am not in anyway associated with Inbox Dollars. So when you say “you” I think you mean to the management of Inbox Dollars and I do hope that you do send this same message with screenshots to them.

I hope you can get the justice you are seeking.

  4. Hi John,
I have tried my hands out at paid surveys and found it a disheartening venture because of the meagre payouts, with much of it being provided in points. The qualifying questions always seem to provide you with poorly paying surveys, so I was curious to learn about Inbox Dollars to see if it was different and whether Inbox Dollars is a scam or not.

I was glad to learn that they have a wide range of brand choice, pay in cash, and that video watching was sometimes an option. However, despite the low payout, there seemed to be way too many negatives such as disappearing accounts, non credited cash and technical issues with redemption.

I agree with you that there are certainly better and easier ways to make money online!

    • Thanks Ceci for sharing your real world experiences with survey sites.
As you have highlighted – they can be disheartening due to the amount of money you can earn is so tiny AND you need to work hard for it.

Inbox Dollars looks good on the surface given they have partnered with so many reputable brands where you can earn points with. But this is almost like a “mirage” given the amount you can earn with Inbox Dollars is so meagre.

Thanks also for sharing your practical experiences in understanding those red flags and that this confirms your decision to stay away from this one.

You also mentioned Low Payouts. This is so common with Survey Sites and Inbox Dollars is no different.
Yes when you break it down into how many dollars you can earn on a hourly basis – I challenge readers to compare this to what you can earn with a part-time job. Personally if I was really short of money, I would rather go get a part time job somewhere else and earn twice the amount (or even more) for spending the same amount of time I would spend on survey sites.

So perhaps survey sites may only be OK to do when you really are stuck e.g. in a medical waiting for doctors, some other long queue or a passenger in a commute.

If you want to earn REAL money online – Instead of spending hours answering surveys that could only be worth only a tiny amount each month, I agree with you and recommend spending your time more efficiently by learning how to start your own online business to make REAL money online.

This is where I can personally help mentor you or anyone to learn and earn.

    • Don’t listen to any blogs telling you it pays well. If you read the app reviews (not their fake 4.5 rating) they are scamming people left and right. Most surveys will quickly become unavailable to you and they will give high offers of $30 plus and then not pay you. I should have had close to $50 in a night but they scammed me. I am for sure one of most people that are extremely unhappy with this app and they make it difficult to contact too. They have a waitlist of 7-10 days to respond back to customer service emails but spam you with emails of promotions. Most surveys will pay you .25 cents for like 20 minutes of your time and it often focuses on race. I don’t recommend this app at all!

      • Hi J,
Thank you for sharing your real experience with Inbox Dollars.
You have pointed out the usual red flags with these types of survey companies
        x Surveys becoming unavailable
x waitlist of 7-10 for customer service – that is shocking
x Fake 4.5 ratings reviews – that is unconscionable
x they should have paid you $50 in a night but they scammed you
x most surveys pay you $0.25c for 20 minutes of your time, that is barely pocket change

Thanks again for sharing and this helps give all readers a real experience of Inbox Dollars

You and any reader are welcome to check out my recommended alternative to make real money online from home.

      • YES!!!!!This also happened to me TOO>>>>COMPLETE SCAM….I Played a Game and they did not Pay me the $40.00….I am a Licensed Certified Classroom Teacher of 28 Years and I did EVERYTHING CORRECT and they SCAMMED ME…Then they deleted my game activity log from my account…Im getting Lawyer to sue…I have all the pictures to prove it…My Husband is a Federal Detective and he should SHUT THEM DOWN….

        • Thanks so much for sharing your horrible experience Sherri.

    • I agree with you Ceci – it’s disappointing to see how many other websites have fallen for it too and will continue to steer people towards thinking “Oh look, this one is different from all those other sleazy ones”. No, it’s not.

  5. Very comprehensive post.

I had heard about Inbox Dollars but never had an in-depth idea, in fact I found the name “Inbox Dollars” itself fishy and previously did not research further after hearing this name. But looking again for paid surveys options I came across your review in search.

But the fact this company has been around for two decades does tell us that Inbox Dollars is no scam.

Of course I also ask myself – is this the best option to make an online business?
    – Is debatable as it depends on individuals mindset and circumstances. In my case, because I know some of my friends will be more than happy to play games, see videos and earn few bucks so it might work for some people but on the other hand if you are looking for something solid online like a “perpetual thriving online business” then you may want to skip Inbox Dollars.

    • Thanks for chiming in Satz,
      I agree wholeheartedly.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Is Inbox Dollars a Scam? and whether Inbox Dollars is worth your time.

As you have pointed out – Inbox Dollars is definitely an option to get some cash.
It could take a long time to make any decent earnings. For How To Make Money With Inbox Dollars? I have a whole section on that above.
But let’s break this down broadly:
      1. they do work,
      2. but the amount of money you can earn is small (for example $0.25c per survey)
      3. AND you need to work hard for it.

Since writing this article, I have been reflecting further on options for people who are wanting to make money from Inbox Dollars or any other paid survey website.
For people in this situation there are a couple of options – If this is a short term attempt to solve a “problem”. Which it typically is

OPTION 1: SHORT TERM SMALL MONEY FROM INBOX DOLLARS (or any other paid survey site):
They can do the Inbox Dollars or any other survey site but please read carefully – What I Don’t Like About Branded Surveys (Disadvantages)

OPTION 2: SHORT TERM MONEY PART-TIME/CASUAL JOB:
When you break it down into how many dollars you can earn on a hourly basis – for someone needing “quick money”. I would rather see them get a part time job somewhere else and earn around twice the amount for spending the same amount of time I would spend on survey sites.

      OPTION 1 vs OPTION 2:

In my opinion, survey sites may only be OK to do when you really are stuck in some really long queue e.g. in a medical waiting for doctors etc, or even in a commute where you are a passenger.
Where you can’t really do anything else but wait!
You have pointed out that some of your friends who area happy to play games, watch videos and maybe earn a few dollars. That is fine too – this is more of a short-term mindset (or even an age thing too!)

      OPTION 3: REAL MONEY ONLINE

If you want to earn REAL money online – Instead of spending hours answering surveys that could only be worth only a small amount each month (or low paying jobs!), I also recommend spending your time more efficiently by learning how to start your own online business in affiliate marketing.

This is where I can personally help mentor you or anyone to learn and earn.

  6. Hi John,

This is a very informative and comprehensive review of Inbox Dollars. I must admit, when I read the name Inbox Dollars, I thought scam immediately. It is not the best name, in my opinion. But, we cannot judge a book by it’s cover, so I went on and read through your review. Another admission, I didn’t realise that this was a survey site. I have tried survey sites in the past, and they do work.

The only trouble I have found and as you have found too is that, you need to do a hell of a lot of surveys to earn a decent amount of money. It reminds me of the Wolf of Wall Street when he joined the rubbish investment centre for bluechip stocks 🙂 You had to make a lot of trades just to make a decent amount of money. Until he scammed everyone of course.

But, I am in agreement with you that this is not a scam. However, if you want to earn a good amount of money then you need to work hard for it. So, I understand why you recommend getting a part time job instead because you could probably earn better money for half the work.

Thank you for this review and keep up the great work.

    All the best,

    Tom

    • Thanks Tom for sharing your real world experiences with survey sites.
As you have pointed out – they do work, but the amount of money you can earn is small AND you need to work hard for it.

  7. What I like about Inbox Dollars is that they use a dollar system instead of points which shows you exactly how much you’ve earned, and they have good partners.

I’m not sure if I would sign up, though. It seems to me that taking surveys and reading promotional emails is time consuming and a survey earns you $0.25 cents only. I suppose it is good if you have extra time, but if you want to make some REAL money online, I think that Inbox Dollars is not enough. The disappearing accounts is also a little worrying to me … I can imagine how frustrating that can be, especially for someone like the woman in the negative complaint who was relying on the payout …

I liked the backstory of the founder who created this company from his dorm room! Now that another company has bought it, he must be rich. 🙂

    • Thanks for sharing your insights Christine,
You raise some very good points. For each survey the screenshot shows its only $0.25 cents.

These are time consuming to complete. PLUS the fact that there are the red flags of disappearing accounts, Missing Cash, Bugs – Inability to Redeem, Difficulty qualifying for surveys – these are concerning!

As you say this played out very sadly for the poor single mother who has given that concerning real world feedback.
The poor lady Renee probably invested a lot of time to earn her $57.58
X just think of how many Surveys that would be if it was just the $0.25/survey!
X That averages out at around 230 surveys!
X Account was inexplicably “Deactivated” this is justifiably devastating for a person who could not afford to lose her hard earned money
X Especially for a single mother who is out of work

As you say the founder probably must be rich. But that is not nice if the company is treating the marginalised so poorly – I really feel for Renee!
As you can see I highly encourage people to – Instead of spending hours answering surveys that could only be worth only a small amount each month, spend your time more efficiently by learning how to start your own online business.

AND I can personally mentor you to help you earn.
