So far this year, it’s been a roller coaster ride, particularly for traditional gamers and streamers, since NFT games (or play-to-earn games) have gained a lot of traction.

Today, I made an honest My DeFi Pet Review to help you determine if My DeFi Pet is legit and whether it is best to invest your money here or not.

The “play-to-earn” movement is a growing trend in gaming, in which players in NFT games earn incentives that can subsequently be converted to real money. Though this type of cryptocurrency has been around for a while, it has grown exponentially during the coronavirus pandemic 2019 (COVID-19), with accompanying lockdowns leaving millions unemployed and vulnerable to making money through gaming.

My DeFi Pet may become the next best Play to Earn game if it launched its own Marketplace. Although My DeFi Pet is currently in its beta phase, many investors believe the game will become more valuable anytime soon.

According to its website, the name incorporates the game’s three characteristics: 

“My” for Personalization

“DeFi” for Features Integrated or just a shorter word for Decentralized Finance

“Pet” for a Pet-Raising Game.

My Defi Pet also has its own monsters for battles that can compete in events for prizes throughout the season.

Collecting, breeding, evolving, battling, and trading are all fun things to do in My DeFi Pet.  Furthermore, My DeFi Pet employs the concept of season to divide the game’s advancement into smaller chunks. This mechanism works in tandem with the human desire for immediate gratification.

How Does My DeFi Pet Work?

My DeFi Pet’s main in-game money is the DPET token, which is a non-refundable functional utility token that may be exchanged between users. These tokens are used to summon additional eggs, breed monsters, and evolve them.

1 DPET token costs $6.98 (Php 352.87) as of the time of writing this My Defi Pet review. To put that in context, 1 DPET costs $0.61 (Php 30.79) on May 8, 2021 and it’s just a matter of time before it increases.

Binance Smart Chain and Kardiachain will support and trade all DPET and NFT tokens. Kardiachain can also give the game to other blockchain communities such as Ethereum and Polkadot because of its non-invasive nature and integration.

However, as a game currency, it has a comparable economic worth in-game as it does in the real world. As a result, the more tokens you have, the more activities you can do, and the entire in-game financial ecosystem is built around healthy user trade.

Background Info of My DeFi Pet

My DeFi Pet was launched by Kardiachain in May 2021. Tri Pham, who happens to be the company’s Co-Founder and CEO, leads the team behind the virtual gaming platform. From conception to launch, Pham has been the driving force behind the invention. It was created in collaboration with Topebox, a Vietnamese game developer whose past products, such as Skydancer and Thief Rivals, garnered millions of downloads worldwide.

How to Join My DeFi Pet?

The game may be found on the official My DeFi Pet website. Because it is a web game, the game does not require installation.

Because there is currently no mobile app for My DeFi Pet, you can use the Yandex browser to play it on your phone.

You must also download or install Metamask (a digital wallet similar to Axie Infinity) as a google chrome extension.

Create a Binance account if you don’t own one to buy BNB (Binance) coins.

After purchasing BNB coins, they should be transferred to your Metamask and then swapped to DPET tokens via PancakeSwap. In order to proceed, your Metamask must be connected to PancakeSwap.

Go back to My DeFi Pet website and click “On BSC Chain” then connect your Metamask, refresh the page and you should be ready to go.

Can You Make Money with My DeFi Pet?

Players can currently earn money in 3 ways.

1. Selling DPET tokens obtained through in-game quests or combat with other monsters or pet masters, which may then be converted using PancakeSwap.

Keep in mind that the fight function is still unavailable, but it may be accessible soon, so stay tuned.

2. Putting creatures up for auction that you’ve been feeding.

If you have a high-level or rare monster, you can sell it to bidders who might be interested.

3. This is a bit more tough, as it involves trying out for the Season Rewards.

For example, the first season award is $100,000, which is locked in a smart contract for DPET Teams, with the tentative criteria for that team having 10 legendary pets with maxed out levels. So, merely to have a shot at winning the prize pool, participants must go all out to meet the requirements.

How to Play My DeFi Pet?

Do you remember the old FarmVille web game from Facebook? My DeFi Pet, on the other hand, gives off that vibe when it greets gamers with a display of their pets in their farm.

To begin, you’ll need monsters, which may be obtained by purchasing monster eggs using DPET tokens. 

1 Egg costs 3 DPET tokens, so if we’re going to base it with the current rate of 1 DPET token, total cost is $6.98 x 3 = $20.94 (Php 1,058.41).

The DPET token will be used to deliver economic incentives to encourage users to contribute to and maintain the ecosystem on My DeFi Pet, resulting in a win-win situation in which each player is appropriately compensated for their contributions. Because there would be no motivation for users to spend resources to participate in activities or perform services for the benefit of the entire ecosystem on My DeFi Pet without DPET token, it is a fundamental and indispensable feature of the platform.

Because additional DPET token will be provided based only on a user’s real usage, activity, and contribution on My DeFi Pet, users of My DeFi Pet and/or DPET token holders who did not actively participate will not earn any DPET token incentives.

Keep in mind that some game features, such as breeding or purchasing game assets, will cost you additional DPET tokens. In other words, you may expect to spend more DPET tokens or put more money into the game.

To get started with the game, you’ll need somewhere between $60-$100.

Once you’ve got your monster, you can start feeding it to improve its stats and level. 

You must cultivate fruits and vegetables on the farm field to feed your monster, which may then be gathered to help your monster grow big and strong. 

You can then continue the procedure until you have an unstoppable fleet of powerful monsters, either by purchasing additional eggs or breeding them.

• Constant bugs and maintenance issues.
  This has always been an issue for most of the players. Some being demoted from the highest down to the lowest level, missing DPET tokens and many more.
  
• The Risks
  The My DeFi Pet whitepaper presented the risks associated when acquiring, using and holding DPET token.
  
  • Insufficient Information Disclosure
    My DeFi Pet is still in development as of this writing, and its design principles, agreement methods, methodologies, codes, and other technicalities and variables may be updated and changed on a regular basis.
    
    Although My DeFi Pet’s whitepaper provides the most up-to-date information, it is not absolute and may be revised and updated by the DPET’s team at any time.
    
  • Talent Loss
    The continuous cooperation of the existing technical staff and expert advisors, who are highly qualified and experienced in their respective industries, is critical to the development of My DeFi Pet. The loss of any member could have a negative impact on My DeFi Pet’s future development. Furthermore, team stability and coherence are important to My DeFi Pet’s overall development. There is a chance that internal disagreement and/or the departure of key employees will occur, having a severe impact on the project in the future.
    
  • Numerous Competitors
    Different sorts of decentralized apps and networks are rapidly growing, and the business is becoming more competitive. Alternative networks based on the same or comparable code and protocol as the underlying DPET token and/or My DeFi Pet could emerge, attempting to re-create similar services.
