How I Made The Header Image Using Pixamattic

To really create a good review, I went ahead and used the software myself. In fact, I used Pixamattic to make a header image for this post.

So, let me show you how I made the header image for this post with ease.

The Blank Canvas

Like any work of art, you’ll start with a blank canvas.

You’ll find some tools at the top of the interface, but most of the tools will be at the left side. You can select a NICHE by clicking that button at the top or just find a template you can use.

Choosing a Template

So, I opted to select a template from the dropdown to start with my design.

I chose the option blog title since I am looking to make a header for this post.

So, I think I found one that I like and selected it. After that, the design is populated in my blank canvas. Now I have the beginning of a design!

Making a Tailor-fit Image

The next thing to do now is to make sure my header matches my website theme. One thing I have to make sure of is that it is the right size.

If you can see, one of the things this software offers is for you to make images, especially for social media. If you need an image to post to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or anywhere else, you can choose the right size for a highly optimized social media image. 

You can even set a custom size to match your specific needs. In my case I need an image with the dimensions of 640px x 336px. 

Final Touches

Now that I have set my image size, it is time to make the final touches.

You can adjust the size of the background image by pulling the image from the sides. However, you don’t want to distort your image too much so you can also use the SCALE button on the left side just under the ROTATION button. This resizes the image so you can set it the way you want.

Next is to move the icons around, resize it if you want, so it aesthetically matches the rest of your image. What took a bit of getting used to here is there doesn’t seem so be any keyboard functions for Pixamattic. This means that hitting ENTER won’t get you anything and DELETE won’t remove an icon or image that you want.

You HAVE to use the tools at the left side. If you want to delete an icon or image, you need to click on that icon or image first, then click the trash bin icon at the left hand side to remove it.

Finally, make sure to change the text. Note that you can only change the text from the box you can find at the left of the interface, not by clicking the text directly on the image.

Yay! I know, you might be able to do better. But I’m no graphic artist you know, and despite that fact, I was able to make a header image that I can use for my post and also resize it easily to make a Pinterest image too. Most of all, I was able to do that in less than 10 minutes!

The Spin

You have to do everything using the functions on the left side of the interface. It takes a bit of getting used to, that’s all.
