I also found that it’s available as an application on Google Play. I was really quite conflicted if it’s a legitimate earning opportunity or not. So I researched everything I could find to report honestly to you and answer all the questions. What is Intime Tax Refund About? Also is Intime Tax Refund a scam or legit?
Our Intime Tax Review was originally published January 13, 2022 however we kept finding red flags and responding to reader feedback, investigated further (see all UPDATES below).
What is a Pyramid Scheme?
Investment possibilities that provide incentives for recruitment might be an affiliate opportunity, an MLM, or a pyramid scheme. Let’s take a look at the three and what a Ponzi scheme is, and I’ll tell you what I think Intime Tax Refund is later in this post.
An affiliate marketing opportunity allows you to profit from the effort you put in by offering rewards to people who have referred others to buy the brand’s goods or services as a direct consequence of your efforts. An MLM, on the other hand, is a type of marketing scheme where you also refer individuals to purchase items or services but become their upline, then they and those they refer are your downline. In an affiliate marketing business, you are free to work with any brand you choose, whereas in an MLM, you must endorse only the company’s product and must aggressively promote it and recruit others to obtain advantages. Although some MLM goods and services may be of excellent quality, they aren’t for everyone.
Why isn’t it for everyone?
1. To recruit individuals to join your downline, you’ll need excellent connections and clout.
2. To maintain your level perks, you must handle and maintain your downlines.
3. Not all MLMs are successful; some claim to provide guaranteed income but the income disclaimers state otherwise.
While you may believe we’ve strayed away from our original topic, a pyramid scheme is essentially an MLM but which is illegal, unregulated as it has no real product or service. A Ponzi scheme, on the other hand, is an unlawful investment operation that promises fantastic returns with no danger. A Ponzi scheme is another type of pyramid scheme where new investors’ money goes towards paying off old investors instead of into legitimate opportunities with revenue potential.
When I initially heard of Intime Tax Refund and read its offer I actually thought that it’s the typical MLM! But here’s what I found.
Is Intime Tax Refund a Pyramid Scheme? Or is it a ponzi?
To see whether Intime Tax Refund is a pyramid scheme or a Ponzi, we must first look for its registration. Why? Because all investment and financial trading firms are required to be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), especially if it’s dealing with fiat currencies.
Consider this: what if a firm decides to rug pull all of its assets? Who would you contact if it isn’t a legal business?
If a company isn’t registered, and it chooses to accept every investment of its members one day, it will make them responsible for anything that might have been stolen if they didn’t file and get an SEC registration. Now I hope you understand how essential a SEC registration is to every trading and investing business you may start.
TIP: When it comes to business registration, most states and countries have websites where you may verify their registration. A business’s registration cannot be verified without conducting your own research because most public records are available, and most nations will almost certainly have websites where you may look up information on their registration.
Now let’s start.
The majority of the time, you can figure out which organization runs a website by reading its Terms and Conditions/Use, or sometimes its Privacy Policy.
Our first red flag:
Is that the Intime Tax Refund website does not feature those pages! Who would be responsible for taking all of your money away if it happened?
But on the about page of their website, they mention that they are affiliated with Intime Retail Group, a department store chain in China. Plus they even attached an illegible Chinese certificate. Not sure if it’s a business certificate or what because it’s too small to read and Google Translate can’t even recognize the characters for translation.
Would you put your money into anything that isn’t linked to a legitimate business? But wait, there’s more: They claim another responsibility on their Telegram channel, which was established on July 6, 2021. It would be unjust to say they aren’t registered because we couldn’t discover any reference to a firm on their website. So let us dig further…
I found out that the website may most likely be new because its Page and Domain Authority according to Moz are both just 1.
And when I looked in the exact date of the website’s creation, I found out that it was only created last November 2021!
A website’s date of creation can let us know if the website is new, and if they claim that they are established for XX years we can easily verify it.
Don’t believe any testimonial that would say that they are using the app for more than a year now!
If on the website they mentioned that they are affiliate with Intime Retail Group, the mobile application says otherwise. Now here they claim that they are under Alibaba!
People Behind Intime Tax Refund
So far we cannot associate anyone with this app because the claims on their website are different from the claims of their Google Play App. Plus, the supposedly and hopefully business certificate they uploaded on the website is unreadable.
March 1, 2022: For anyone who needs the names of the directors, here are the names from the SEC document that we have requested:
We omitted the residential addresses for privacy purposes. In case they try to change the directors, do know that this is the current version of their registration as of March 1, 2022.
Please don’t ask us for the residential address of these directors, just request your own copy of their Articles of Incorporation of Intime Import and Export LLC from SEC Express if you may need them to seek legal action.

How Does Intime Tax Refund Work?
There are lots of video tutorials on Youtube that show how Intime Tax Refund Work. It seems like it’s targeting Filipinos because even the telegram group that they have for the app is specified for those living in the Philippines. But here’s how it works
- You sign-up through a referral link
- You get 100 credits that you can use to purchase something from the “Tax Refund” option. All virtual products have designated prices and profits that you can get only after elapsing a certain length of time (0-24 hours). Products’ prices range from 100 Php – 25,000 Php ($1-$500). You won’t get physical items, you only click and click to transact.
3. You can deposit funds to the app through different payment methods if you want to purchase the products with higher prices and profit.
4. You confirm the transaction and you wait a certain amount of time (depending on the time shown in the product you chose) before you get back your funds and your profit.
Does it really have anything to do with tax? Nope. It’s like you’re buying virtual goods and risking your money as you wait if it goes back to your account.
I find this app very risky especially if you’re putting your hard-earned money into it.
They also seem to offer a pyramid type of recruitment strategy:
Can You Really Make Money Through Intime Tax Refund?
The viable ways you can do to make money through Intime Tax Refund would be by:
- Becoming an Investor or Affiliate then ranking through the network levels through recruitment
- Reaching required withdrawal amount
Since it’s a rather new type of risky investing venture. It’s no wonder that there are a lot of people who contend that they have profited from it. As with every pyramid recruitment strategy, only most of the early adopters are most likely to profit from this. The downside is when the pyramid starts to collapse due to less recruitment or financial stumbles… the last adopters are the ones that suffer.
In the case of Intime Tax Refund, it seems to be only starting to create a following and a community. And the least risky way to profit from this is to diligently use the free 100 credits on the initial signup up until you reach the withdrawable amount. I don’t recommend investing any hard-earned money in this.
How Much Does It Cost to Join Intime Tax Refund?
You can sign-up for free. When you decide to increase your level of purchase and profit, here is what they mentioned on their VIP Levels (verbatim):
VIP 1- 1. Make a 200 peso refundable security deposit to become VIP1 member; 2. Tax refund cyde is 12hrs; 3. 3-3.2% tax refund profit daily. For example: An item cost 600PHP, and you will get 600*3*1=18PHP wthin 12hrs. VIP 2 - 1. Make a 1500 peso refundable security deposit to become VIP2 member; 2. Tax refund cyde is 48hrs; 3. 3.5-3.8% tax refund profit daily. For example: An item cost 6500PHP, and you will get 6500*3.5*2=455PHP wthin 48hrs. VIP 3 - 1. Make a 6000 peso refundable security deposit to become VIP3 member; 2. Tax refund cyde is 72hrs; 3. 4.0-4.2% tax refund profit daily. For example: An item cost 36000PHP, and you will get 36000*4.0*3=4320PHP wthin 72hrs. VIP 4 - 1. Make a 15000 peso refundable security deposit to become VIP4 member; 2. Tax refund cyde is 120hrs; 3. 4.5-4.8% tax refund profit daily. For example: An item cost 98000PHP, and you will get 98000*4.5*5=22050PHP wthin 120hrs. VIP 5 - 1. Make a 38000 peso refundable security deposit to become VIP5 member; 2. Tax refund cyde is 168hrs; 3. 5.0-5.2% tax refund profit daily. For example: An item cost 238000PHP, and you will get 238000*5.0*7=83300PHP wthin 168hrs.
I’m not sure about you but I don’t like that they seemed to have a recurring typo “cyde” which I believe should be cycle…

The Intime Tax Refund Verdict [Is Intime Tax Refund a Scam?]
I was expecting Intime Tax Refund to be a typical MLM with strong recruiting methods, but based on all of the warning signals I discovered while investigating, it’s likely that it’s either a pyramid scheme or a Ponzi scheme. While it is acceptable to recruit consumers into investment opportunities, it is considerably safer and preferable if an investment venture has verifiable registration and companies associated with it.
Since the website and the Google App has no verifiable relations to Alibaba and Intime Retail Group, it’s fair to say that they are illegally operating and using those names as a front.

Actually, the best way that I believe you can profit from this is to grow the free 100 credits that you get from the application. Beyond that I think you might be signing up for a pyramid or a Ponzi scheme.

It seems to be in its early stages now and trying to establish authority as a legitimate app. While it seems on the surface like a promising investment venture, I cannot recommend it due to its lack of verifiable proof of registration and the company running it. A user of Intime Tax refund has asked us to verify the company details of a “company number” that they have seemingly gathered. However, there is no way that the registration number can be verified especially as other details are needed, like the country or state that they have registered on plus the company name that they are using.
However, we believe that there is no need to verify further because no legitimate service would register different domains for a service especially for a financial service, currently, they own the following domains:

We have received the documents that we requested from SEC and surprisingly they do have a SEC registration. But let me tell you why it’s not enough.

This document shows that the company is allowed to conduct business but not for anything that involves investment solicitation and investment taking. Whenever you use Intime Tax Refund, no-one actually gets any physical goods right? Therefore it does not count as merchandise buying and selling or anything about wholesale or retail. What they offer are “virtual products” that you don’t receive.
Plus you are “encouraged” to increase the money that you are to put in. Plus it involves recruiting others… sounds like a brewing pyramid scam. Add the fact that the other websites they used before are now gone!

I am the author of the article. I have personally tried the platform before writing this. It only involves selecting a product of a certain price and checking it out (paying for it). Then every product you select has designated time before the money goes back into your Intime wallet. The more a product costs, the more time that you need to wait. You won’t get any physical product. The reason why Alibaba and Amazon show up as registrar is because you can buy domain names (website name) and hosting from them. This means that those domain names were acquired from Alibaba and Amazon services. But kudos for checking in!
